Workday Wanderlust: Sun, Steps & Sanity
Ah, the first truly sunny day in what feels like forever. The kind of day where your email inbox can wait and your calendar starts to feel a little… flexible. So I did what any nature-starved office dweller would do—I moved a few meetings, laced up the walking shoes, and took myself on a lunch break adventure.
And what an adventure it was.
I started with a canopy-covered trail, the kind where the air is cooler and the leaves play shadow games on the ground. Then a wooden bridge lured me over a swampy nook—Mother Nature’s version of a zen garden, minus the rakes. A calm lake appeared next, perfectly still, like a green mirror framed in trees. And then… the rose garden. A full-blown pastel explosion that smelled like Sunday mornings and first dates.
Almost 10,000 steps, a mild sweat, and a maxed-out camera roll later, I was back at my desk, happier, clearer, and mildly smug about my vitamin D intake.
Moral of the story? When the sun comes out—so should you. Your inbox will still be there, I promise.
