Hola, querido hiver.

¿Sabes esos días en los que te van surgiendo imprevistos, uno tras otro? Así está siendo hoy para mí, aunque todavía no haya terminado la mañana mientras escribo esto. No queda otra que fluir para evitar la ansiedad, ocuparme de una cosa a la vez y concentrarme en cada tarea que inicio, una vez terminada la anterior.

Una de mis fortalezas es que no me importa reconocer mis errores. Los he cometido, muchos, y los continúo cometiendo. Lo que se me hace cuesta arriba es perdonármelos. Es algo que no comprendo, porque olvido pronto las equivocaciones ajenas. En cambio, conmigo misma ejerzo un juicio que roza lo implacable y no es justo. No soy justa.

Limando y limando un poco cada día estoy cambiando esta situación que me hacía daño. Acontecimientos familiares han ayudado a acelerar el proceso, a darme cuenta de la pérdida de tiempo que suponía dedicar a ese sufrimiento ni un segundo de mis pensamientos. Aplico la disciplina de ser menos disciplinada y me encuentro más serena que nunca. Aprovecho las dificultades para crecerme en ellas y salir más fuerte que antes.

En primer lugar, dite a ti mismo quién quieres ser. Y, luego, de acuerdo con eso, haz lo que haces. Y es que en casi todas las demás cosas vemos que sucede así. Los atletas deciden primero quiénes quieren ser y, luego, de acuerdo con eso, obran en consecuencia.

Mi reflexión

Uno de los aspectos que más trabajo interiormente es el de establecer mis propios objetivos. Quizás te parezca raro, querido lector, saber que hasta hace relativamente poco tiempo, mis preferencias solían quedar eclipsadas por las apetencias de quienes me rodeaban. No porque nadie me arrinconase, sino que era yo misma la que les daba el poder sobre mi voluntad.

Desde que decidí seguir mi propio camino frente a cualquiera que pretendiese cambiarlo no he ido por un camino de rosas. Al principio me sentí fuera de lugar en todas partes. No sabía qué narices hacía en este mundo, hacia dónde dirigirme o qué hacer con mi vida. Con paciencia, fui probando diversas actividades hasta establecer nuevas costumbres sin apenas darme cuenta. Esto es positivo aunque debo estar alerta para no caer en la rigidez y el aburrimiento. Por el momento, consigo cumplir con los límites que me autoimpongo.

Otro aspecto fundamental en el cambio positivo de mi vida ha sido establecer objetivos concretos. Como bien nos indica Epicteto, primero hay que saber hacia dónde quieres ir. Una vez decidida la dirección, dar un paso tras otro. En mi caso, algo tan sencillo como tener la meta de reflexionar a diario supuso un antes y un después. Los resultados tardaron unas semanas en notarse, pero llegaron. Leer la cita estoica del día, reflexionar sobre ella y escribir mis impresiones se ha convertido en mi terapia personal.

Ayer escribía sobre la necesidad de ponerse en marcha, aunque te equivoques y tengas que rectificar. El movimiento es lo que te mantiene vivo. Y si fallas, te recompones y sigues la marcha.

Por la mañana: paseo con el perrito, compras y labores domésticas, curación de contenidos, escritura.

Por la tarde: lectura de artículos de blog, tareas de Hive, preparación de la iniciativa de Holos&Lotus, paseo con mi marido y el perrito.

Hi, dear hiver.

You know those days when unexpected things come up, one after the other? That's how it is for me today, even though the morning is not yet over as I write this. There is nothing left but to flow to avoid anxiety, to take care of one thing at a time and to concentrate on each task I start, once the previous one is done.

One of my strengths is that I don't mind admitting my mistakes. I have made them, many, and I continue to make them. What I find difficult is forgiving myself for them. It's something I don't understand, because I quickly forget other people's mistakes. On the other hand, with myself I exercise a judgement that borders on the implacable and is not fair. I am not fair.

By filing and filing a little every day, I am changing this situation that was hurting me. Family events have helped to accelerate the process, to make me realise what a waste of time it was to devote even a second of my thoughts to this suffering. I apply the discipline of being less disciplined and I find myself more serene than ever. I use the difficulties to grow through them and emerge stronger than before.

My reflection

One of the things I work on most inwardly is to set my own goals. It may seem strange to you, dear reader, to know that until relatively recently, my preferences were often overshadowed by the desires of those around me. Not because anyone pushed me into a corner, but because it was I myself who gave them power over my will.

Since I decided to follow my own path in the face of anyone who wanted to change it, I have not had a smooth ride. At first I felt out of place everywhere. I didn't know what the hell I was doing in this world, where to go or what to do with my life. With patience, I tried different activities until I established new habits without even realising it. This is a good thing, but I have to be careful not to become rigid and bored. For the time being, I manage to stick to the limits I set for myself.

Another fundamental aspect in the positive change in my life has been to set concrete goals. As Epictetus rightly points out, first you have to know where you want to go. Once you have decided the direction, take one step after another. In my case, something as simple as having the goal of reflecting on a daily basis was a before and after. The results took a few weeks to show, but they came. Reading the stoic quote of the day, reflecting on it and writing down my impressions has become my personal therapy.

Yesterday I was writing about the need to get moving, even if you make mistakes and have to rectify them. Movement is what keeps you alive. And if you fail, you pick yourself up and keep moving.

Logbook of the day

In the morning: walk with the dog, shopping and housework, content curation, writing.

Afternoon: reading blog articles, Hive tasks, preparing for the Holos&Lotus initiative, walk with my husband and the puppy.
