Mental Health Initiative on the FreeCompliments Community – HBD Rewards for our Mental Health Ambassadors!

Our mental health initiative has been growing over the past year, and we’re constantly findings more efficient ways to tackle any mental health problems that we see on Hive. We have a daily theadcast on Threads where we post links to struggling users and get our team to help them as quickly as possible. Our cases are publish via @fc-mentalhealth, so you can see all the work we’re doing and following through. Once in a while, we come across a very significant case, and this truly makes our efforts worth it.

New HBD Rewards for our Mental Health Ambassadors

For a while, I’ve promised our team that I’d implement HBD rewards. These will be distributed on a monthly basis based on the amount of work that each Mental Health Ambassador puts into the project. We’ve developed a very simple system:

I placed a bunch of my own HBD into savings. Half of the HBD will be distributed to our MHAs, and the other half will be put back into savings to continue growing.

By distributing half of these rewards every month, we’ll able to grow our monthly rewards and increase the amount distributed every month. Based on the initial 1083 HBD, we’re expecting a total of approximately 9 HBD to be distributed to MHAs the first month, with a slightly increasing amount every month thereafter.

All of these rewards will be in addition the HSBI that our paid MHAs receive every month. While the HSBI rewarded is proportional to the amount of active “days” per week that they search for struggling members, these HBD rewards will be directly proportional to the contribution to the initiative as a whole, including writing posts for @fc-mentalhealth. This provides a fair reward system to those MHAs who are willing to do more work versus those who wish to take upon the minimum tasks required within their roles (which is ok – this is tough work!).

Conclusion

We’ve now introduced HBD rewards to our Mental Health Ambassadors. I hope this will incentivize the proliferation of the Mental health Initiative.
