Winners of the Post of the Month, Compliment of the Month, and Non-Compliment Comment of the Month on the FreeCompliments Community – May 2024!

Welcome to May’s iteration of the FreeCompliments Community’s contests for Post of the Month, Compliment of the Month, and Non-Compliment Comment of the Month! The goal of this contest is to encourage the creation of quality content, both long-form and short-form, for the betterment of the community and its members.

The winner of the Post of the Month and Compliment of the Month will win 5 HSBI + 1000 Ecency Points + 20 $LEO + 1000 NEOXAG each, and runner-ups of these plus the Non-Compliment Comment of the Month will win 3 HSBI + 500 Ecency Points + 10 $LEO + 500 NEOXAG.

Additionally, @raymondspeaks announced that “Monthly contest winners will also get a BIG fat vote from @brofi on their latest post” – how exciting!

Thank you to everyone who voted! Multiple votes did not take place, no curation trails were found, our friendly @dustbunny was identified, and no self-votes occurred – perfection. I did break ties for runner-up Post of the Month and runner-up Compliment of the Month since our votes for a little bit lower this month.

I do apologize for the delay in reporting the results this month.

Post of the Month

Not all heroes wear capes or have super powers. from @wiseagent. In this post, he describes that our everyday empathetic human actions are what make us heroes. It serves as a wonderful reminder that we can be heroes through taking simple actions to help out our fellow human, and that makes it an exceptionally deserving winner of Post of the Month.

And for our runner-up:

The Lasting Impact of World War II from @hetty-rowan. In this post, they describe their visit to a museum full of World War II memorabilia, and give us some historical context and their personal views on the items they found, including the importance of assigning value to the freedoms we have thanks to those who fought in this war, and to not forget the importance of peace in our current day. This is a very intelligently written and thought-out post (and I will admit my bias by proclaiming it as my personal favorite this month), making it an outstanding winner of our runner-up prize!

Compliment of the Month

From @rafatrony, this compliment towards the winner of our Post of the Month encapsulates the essence of the post in a few sentences while giving high praise to the author, encouraging the proliferation of such attitudes in our culture. It is so well-written that I almost (almost) copied it as the description for Post of the Month above, which makes it a perfect candidate to win Compliment of the Month!

Non-Compliment Comment of the Month

While our primary focus is on compliments, free speech and discussion is also a tremendous focus in this community. Not all conversations require compliments or agreements, but rather respectful discussion, listening, and exchanges of ideas. Thus, I believe it is essential to reward dialogues which are done in such a manner. This is a tenet of the stringent free speech principle we exercise, in a manner that we would love to see implemented in all forms of communication.

This month, it’s a comment by @esmeesmith, describing her willingness to try out meditation, with a humorous acknowledgment of the challenge she knows she’ll face in her journey. Hope you’ve found a way to stay still while thinking about nothing – in the meantime, you’ve earned the title of Non-Compliment Comment of the Month!
