After 6 weeks of being a lot more focused and accountable with my runs, my results and process are not that exciting to report but I think this approach is definitely helping me build a better base than I have had for a long time which was like burning the candle from both ends.
Only 25 km covered for the week, running slower obviously means less kilometres but with the same time and a higher cadence has me feeling fresher and stronger.
It has helped me to think more about the time as the base line rather than mileage.
The zone 2 easy runs are getting more comfortable each day and it has become a bit of a game to see how far and fast I can actually go without going into zone 3.
parkrun was my only harder zone 4 workout for the week. It was great not having to keep my eye on the watch but with the lack of hill and harder training while we were away meant I really struggled. I suppose it is going to take a while to get my parkrun time back to where they used to be.
