(And here is the penultimate photo from my vacation in Greece. It was taken on the day of my departure, about 15 minutes away from the airport in Kalamata. Since my flight was delayed by over an hour, we decided to head to the seaside and spend the waiting time there.)
Hi Actifitters,
yesterday, the agenda once again included reverse pull-ups, and it really called for some willpower. After warming up and doing some thorough stretching, I headed over to the pull-up bar and began the first set. With the noticeable muscle soreness left over from my previous pull-up session, lowering myself down, time after time, was extremely uncomfortable. Fortunately, it became a bit more bearable with each subsequent set, and by the end, I even managed to increase my total number of repetitions. Here are my figures:
The next goal according to the training plan (41):
| set 1 | set 2 | set 3 | set 4 | set 5 | break between sets |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 10 | 8 | 8 | 10 | 120 seconds |
My previous attempt (25):
| set 1 | set 2 | set 3 | set 4 | set 5 | break between sets |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 7 | 6 | 4 | 3 | 120 seconds |
Yesterdays attempt (27):
| set 1 | set 2 | set 3 | set 4 | set 5 | break between sets |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 8 | 6 | 5 | 3 | 120 seconds |
My best attempt before vacation (39):
| set 1 | set 2 | set 3 | set 4 | set 5 | break between sets |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 10 | 8 | 8 | 8 | 120 seconds |
So, yesterday I managed two more repetitions than in my previous training session. At the same time, I am now (only) 12 repetitions away from my personal best.
Afterward, I hopped on the bike to complete the "Climb of the Week" on Zwift for the fourth and final time, tackling the most difficult version (125% of the original gradient). Here are my numbers:
Duration - 0:30:34
Distance - 7.42 km
Elevetaion gain - 391 m
Average speed - 14.6 km/h
Maximum speed - 112.7 km/h
Average power output - 233 watts
Maximum power output - 518 watts
Average heart rate - 152 bpm
Maximum heart rate - 176 bpm
Average cadence - 74
Maximum cadence - 113
Calories - 409
The extreme top speed was only possible because I encountered a gradient of over 30% during the final descent. Naturally, these are figures that cannot really be achieved in the real world. As for the high heart rate, that is likely simply due to the fact that my heart rate was still elevated from my pull-up workout when I hopped straight onto the bike. Since I was a bit pressed for time, I unfortunately couldn't afford a break between the two sessions.
Mission 80 (Day 132 = 89.3 kg / Goal = 80.0 kg / Initial weight = 90.0 kg / Total loss = 0.7 kg)
I honestly have no real idea what my body is doing right now; even yesterday, I didn’t exceed my calorie expenditure, yet I’ve still seen a significant weight gain. If this keeps up, I’ll soon be back over 90 kg. That would be truly disheartening!
Since yesterday’s two strenuous training sessions have — according to Garmin — pushed me into a state of overtraining, I’m taking it easy today and sticking just to getting my steps in. After such a long break, my body needs time to readjust to regular, more intense training.
