(I took this photo yesterday during my evening walk. People are truly idiotic and don't seem to give a second thought to the crazy things they do. That said, when I was on the smart trainer today and nearly lost my mind, I would have happily gotten rid of my bike, too. ;-) )
Hi Actifitters,
my training session yesterday started with reverse pull-ups. I was able to record an improvement over my previous workout, managing a total of two more repetitions than last time.
The next goal according to the training plan (31):
| set 1 | set 2 | set 3 | set 4 | set 5 | break between sets |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | 8 | 6 | 6 | 8 | 120 seconds |
My previous attempt (26):
| set 1 | set 2 | set 3 | set 4 | set 5 | break between sets |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 7 | 5 | 5 | 7 | 120 seconds |
Yesterdays attempt (28):
| set 1 | set 2 | set 3 | set 4 | set 5 | break between sets |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | 8 | 6 | 6 | 5 | 120 seconds |
Afterwards, I hopped on the smart trainer for a threshold workout that was a real beast. My last threshold session consisted of just one block where I had to pedal at 270 watts for 16 minutes. But yesterday's workout involved two 16-minute blocks at 275 watts. That really pushed me to the limit. The following figures might give an idea of what I went through during yesterday's training session:
Duration - 1:07:09
Distance - 31.68 km
Elevetaion gain - 530 m
Average speed - 28.3 km/h
Maximum speed - 72.0 km/h
Average power output - 219 watts
Maximum power output - 278 watts
Average heart rate - 155 bpm
Maximum heart rate - 184 bpm
Average cadence - 90
Maximum cadence - 112
Calories - 844
After that ordeal, I’m really glad I have four completely training-free days now. At least my FTP value has climbed to 254.
Mission 80 (Day 66 = 85.2 / Goal = 80.0 kg / Initial weight = 90.0 / Total loss = 4.8 kg)
Yesterday I was disciplined and managed to lose a few grams. The scale's display showed 85.2 kilos.
That will be the last measurement for the next few days. I’m off on a short holiday and, naturally, I’m not taking my scale with me. As everyone knows, holidays and dieting don’t mix well, so I’m already a bit worried about the number that will be waiting for me on the scale on Monday. ;-)
Since we’re heading to the train station in just over half an hour to spend a few days in Prague (Czech Republic), there won’t be any workouts for the next few days. However, my wife and I will be clocking up plenty of steps while sightseeing, so at least we’ll be getting some physical activity.
