Strenuous sprint interval training... my training diary entry from August 26 2026

(edited)

(I took this photo on May 1st at the May Day festival in Berchtesgaden. I treated myself to something to eat there before setting off to hike up the Kehlstein.)

Hi Actifitters,

yesterday, alongside a few core stability exercises, I completed a really strenuous sprint workout.

20 minutes warm-up at 190 watts
19 x 0:10 at 505 watts (20 seconds recovery between each interval at 95 watts)
5 minutes recovery at 160 watts
19 x 0:10 at 505 watts (20 seconds recovery between each interval at 95 watts)
15 minutes cool-down at 160 watts

I was really glad when the session was over, but I’m already looking forward to the next sprint workout. Here are a few more figures regarding the training.

Duration - 0:59:09
Distance - 29.74 km
Elevetaion gain - 228 m
Average speed - 30.2 km/h
Maximum speed - 56.5 km/h
Average power output - 192 watts
Maximum power output - 506 watts
Average heart rate - 137 bpm
Maximum heart rate - 167 bpm
Average cadence - 95
Maximum cadence - 137
Calories - 651

Mission 80 (Day 59 = 86.0 kg / Goal = 80.0 kg / Initial weight = 90.0 / Total loss = 4.0 kg)

After having almost neutralized the weight gain from the weekend's cheat day over the past two days, I’ve managed to lose another 300 grams since yesterday.

Today, the plan once again includes pull-ups—or rather, reverse pull-ups. Garmin also wants me to do a longer base cycling session at 155 watts.
