Small pull-up progress and a sprint session... my training diary entry from August 18 2026

(edited)

(I took this picture in April of this year. I love spring walks, when everything is lush and green and nature is starting to bloom. It feels like just yesterday, but in reality, autumn is just around the corner.)

Hi Actifitters,

in addition to pull-up training, a sprint session on the indoor trainer was on the agenda yesterday. As for the pull-ups, I managed to improve by one repetition in this third session of the training plan.

The next goal according to the training plan (26):

set 1set 2set 3set 4set 5break between sets
27557120 seconds

My previous attempt (21):

set 1set 2set 3set 4set 5break between sets
27543120 seconds

Yesterdays attempt (22):

set 1set 2set 3set 4set 5break between sets
27553120 seconds

As previously mentioned several times, this training plan consists—for the time being—solely of the downward phase of a pull-up. I’m really curious to see how long it will take before I can manage the first five clean pull-ups in a row. It’ll probably take ages.

The sprint session really demanded a lot from me once again. It included a block that involved going all-out at 510 watts for 20 seconds, followed by three minutes of pedaling at 190 watts. This entire sequence was repeated 10 times. It became truly grueling towards the end.

Duration - 1:00:08
Distance - 34.04 km
Average speed - 34.0 km/h
Maximum speed - 52.4 km/h
Average power output - 188 watts
Maximum power output - 513 watts
Average heart rate - 138 bpm
Maximum heart rate - 172 bpm
Average cadence - 87
Maximum cadence - 116
Calories - 649

Mission 80 (Day 51 = 86.8 kg / Goal = 80.0 kg / Initial weight = 90.0 / Total loss = 3.2 kg)

After my weight crept up a bit over the weekend—despite my discipline—I can now report a downward trend for the third day in a row. Between yesterday and today, I dropped 400 grams. I’d be happy for things to keep going this way.

Today marks the first close-grip push-up session, aimed at the next interim goal. Let's see how long it takes me to reach it this time. My motivation is certainly high. On top of that, Garmin wants me to hop on the bike and ride for 80 minutes at 150 watts. So be it.
