Mission: Find the Dog

The universe said “no long walks today,” and I listened… reluctantly.

Work meetings claimed most of the daylight hours, and just when I carved out time for a proper stroll, I got the call every dog owner dreads: “Your dog is out.” Not for a walk. Not with a leash. Just… out.

Cue the brisk power-walk back, fueled by adrenaline and worst-case scenarios. Thankfully, we found the furry escape artist before she got too far. Crisis dodged, heart rate elevated, and lesson learned: even the dog needs more structure on grey days.

As for the scenery? Classic Belgian winter: grey, damp, and quietly reflective, both in mood and in the canal. It’s not postcard-pretty, but it’s real. And there’s something grounding in showing up for a walk even when it’s not “Instagram weather.”
