A Pause Between Pings

There’s a unique kind of office day where you swear your calendar has turned against you. You open your laptop with hope… and get pulled into a vortex of emergency meetings, Teams pings, and conversations like:
“We’re deprecating the database in two weeks.”
“That’s our source of truth.”
“Not for long!”

By midday, my brain felt like a Windows 98 machine running Photoshop on 512MB of RAM. But then, like the universe hit pause on the madness, the clouds parted. The sun came out, and so did I.

I slapped on “Do Not Disturb”, stepped away from the madness, and traded digital stress for natural light. Walked a trail I didn’t plan. Saw horses, captured shadows stretching across a bridge, and even caught a rose stubbornly blooming like it didn’t get the memo that it’s December.

Sometimes all it takes is one hour, a few good steps, and chasing light instead of deadlines.

And yeah, the database is still doomed. But I’m not.
