Walking Off the Feast

Today was a family-first kind of day. Think banquet-style, with a table overflowing with food, the type of gathering that would make Asterix proud. Plates kept coming, stories kept flowing, and laughter was non-stop. Honestly, I lost count of the dishes… and of how many times I went back for “just a little more.”

Naturally, this left less time for walking. But here’s the thing: fitness isn’t about perfection, it’s about balance. After lunch, I managed to sneak out for a walk, letting the clouds and calm water set the pace. The sky was heavy and dramatic, almost cinematic, while the reflections in the canal added that touch of quiet magic.

By the end of the day, I clocked 7,000 steps and 5km. Not a marathon, not a record-breaker, but a steady reminder that progress comes in different shapes. Some days are about pushing your limits, and others are about showing up despite the food coma. And honestly? Both matter just as much.
