Sun, Steps & a Coffee Crisis ☀️🚶♂️☕
There are two types of emergencies in life: the kind that require calling an ambulance, and the kind that require sprinting to the store for coffee before the caffeine drought sets in. Tonight, it was the latter. ☕
Which meant my daily double-walk plan got downgraded to a single lunchtime outing. But oh, what a walk it was, 6 km, 11,000 steps, and a reminder that the middle of the day can be its own little sanctuary.
The sun was in full “scorch mode,” painting the canal in ripples of green and gold. Trees leaned over the water like they were trying to sneak a sip. The air hummed with the kind of stillness you only get in the heat of summer.
I followed the narrow path, alternating between shaded stretches and wide-open sky, feeling the rhythm of each step turn into a moving meditation. Sure, I didn’t close the day with a second walk, but sometimes one really good one is enough, especially when the alternative is starting tomorrow without coffee. And we can all agree: that’s just unacceptable.
