Soggy Steps and Stormy Skies
The plan was simple: two walks to break up a day that’s been anything but restful. But life, weather, and fairground noise had other ideas.
Legs felt like they’d gone three rounds with a sleep-deprived bear—probably the result of too many restless nights interrupted by carnival sounds and flashing lights. I laced up anyway, determined to squeeze something out of this foggy day. One step out the door and I was greeted by a sky that looked like it had emotional baggage to unpack.
During my lunch walk, the clouds finally cracked. Rain? No. Biblical downpour. I got soaked to the bone, and honestly… it was kind of perfect. The kind of rain that makes you feel alive, even if you can’t feel your toes.
The second walk? Cancelled—washed away by a full-blown evening deluge. But that one soggy stroll gave me enough peace, fresh air, and natural beauty to call it a win.
