Three Walks, One Transformation: The Day My Feet Took Over
Some days, the plan shifts—and thank goodness for it. What started as a two-walk day got upgraded when evening garden plans freed up an unexpected slot. Naturally, I took the opportunity for a third stroll. The result? A glorious 18km total and a very satisfying 24,000 steps under my belt.
But the real win wasn’t just in the distance.
Today marked the first time I walked all three legs in my Vibrams—no backup shoes, no cheating. Just me, my newly awakened feet, and the sweet slap of rubber against sun-warmed asphalt. If you’ve ever flirted with barefoot walking but hesitated, let me tell you: the boost in pace, connection, and pure feel of it is addictive.
The canal was shimmering, ducks were out in force, and the air was that just-right mix of crisp and warm. I’m not saying this was the perfect walking day, but… okay, yes, that’s exactly what I’m saying.
