Now to our discussion for this weekend! We will be discussing βDOUBLE ADMISSIONS β. The world is moving fast and rewarding those who have the expertise and professionalism required in their various fields. Education remains the number one thing that makes this possible and we all wish to be products of same education. However, some individuals take a more courageous approach to acquiring knowledge.
Hereβs the question!
or should other offers be terminated once one is accepted?
and still graduate excellently without issues?β
Our hangout is still in mind and plans are still forming to make it a reality. Check out our last post to stay updated.Hereβs a link to the post. Thanks to everyone that has contributed and is contributing towards the success of this hangout. Keep supporting the plans as we are making good progress.

Now we know that we have different systems or quality or standards of education across the globe varying based on the environment or country.
Now on a general note I think it would be crazy to hold multiple admissions at the same time. Come to look at it, it may not be a bad idea but the STSTEM itself is not built that way, it is not built to accommodate a wider range than what is already possible that is exactly why it is called THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM. you canβt break it but you can only scale through or hack your way out. Now as it stands when you fortunately get 2 or more admissions you have to leave one for one, as they would say you cat eat your cake and have itβ¦.
On the other hand can one really handle 2 admissions???
I donβt think yes. It would have been possible If only THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM was built or designed to. The system already makes you focus on a wider range or subjects that are not your main field which is explainable, in a simple term Γ lawyer who has little biology and marketing knowledge would be able to psychologically make more money off his escapades. And then the system gives you a stipulated amount of time to finish the study, in reality we know that everything is really rushed like the topics and outlines Thats why we donβt get to do real time practicals we just write exams and pass them so weβre good to go. 2 admissions Γ time would kill you! Even if youβre a genius. Now would the system be bent to you alone ? So you can have perfect timetables for your both universities ? lol enough of thatβ¦β¦ other offers should be terminated while you go for the best one then you can do Γ second degree after. Thst more productive
Now second question is still a mighty No. Except the person is not studying Γ professional course maybe studying trades or basic artisan skills in both schools. Can you imagine doctor studying law at the same time ? He will not only die but his friends as well lol. It is not even realistic at all please!!!! This comment is out of pain. Our educational system is already too stressful because government wants control in every sector so instead of creating possibilities to complicate it more letβs hope or push towards a system thatβs less complicated and well structured, personal focused and not just general focused.
Thanks for reading. Tell me Whatchu think about this .

Education in Nigeria is already part of our suffering, enduring two at a time with other sufferness we are already enduring is like swallowing bomb
πππππ youre more than right the system is not conducive enough for learning to be honest
I don't know about the educational system of other countries o but based on Naija own weh I don experience 2 different schools and testimonies or experiences from friends and families, holding onto one admission is exhausting, depressing, and tiring cos most of these lectures makes life difficult like you're studying more than that course and their treatments at times may even be termed as attempted murder.
Most people can't even cope or hardly cope with 1 admission let alone 2 admissions at a go so I'll support the fact that one admission should be accepted while the rest be cancelled.
You never see where den dey advise person to withdraw for school because say GP na 1.5? π ATW sharparly from the management. I don't know why I'm laughing
@marsdave @chefqueen @van.illa @quduus1 @goldenproject @abdul-qudus oya you guys should come and defend your first and second choice weh you pick for jamb π

I know someone that did two degrees in one school, I never had issues with the two courses, the only issue I had was that none was a professional course, just two regular courses.
He didn't graduate from any of the courses, a waste of money π€¦

Hello everyoneeeeee.
Wait first, my brain is not braininig.
Okay, so i saw this thing wherr jamb already told students not to hold admission in two different schools, to me i feel that not many people can pull over attending classes in two differnt institutions.
Take for example lagos, you cant be a student of Ybatech and also be a student of LAsutech at same time, omo the stress of going up and down ehn, body go tell you.
In a way, i suport jamb on this one, there's no way to survive in that kind of condition, the stress alone of entering bus up and down. So its better a student commits to one school and really focus on it.
@henryjnrr @afrikens @chefqueen @cohlson . What is your take?
It is not even possible. You can't be whistle and blow your nose at the same time
With the way stress full all these institutions, person go just die like koooli fowl
like do you get?
I wonder how possible it is.
even the only one i dey go, i dey tire normally

It's possible o. In school, I knew people running two courses. They exist in all institutions. But I strongly believe one course will suffer.

You're right about that, it's not an easy one at all. I have friends who did Sha, and it was a very very tough one for them, the first even had to later drop out as he couldn't meet up anymore.

Thanks for tagging me jare ,only you remember meπ€
Stress will kill that person,it's not even advisable,they shouldn't even talk about it
It is not easy to study two courses at the same time. There are people who feel like it is possible but for me I don't think so, one should stick with one particularly school.

This is a beautiful topic to discuss, about if students should be allowed to hold multiple admissions at the same time. Personally I would say it's not good. I know such a person would as well have their reasons, but then they should also think about some other qualified students who are left stranded at home and are praying for one, while they hoard two or more.
I think that was yesterday, I saw a tweet where someone talked about this multiple admission of a thing and jamb replied the individual, asking him how one person would hold two admissions at a time and denying somebody else of the opportunity. Most students today see such as a backup plan, like just in case.....
Also, about if a student can commit to two institutions at a time and still come out good, I would say it depends and the capability of such a student. Any student who would decide to do such must know if he's mentally, physically and all ...cally* able to carry both. Because it will drain them if energy, money and all. I have about two friends of mine while I was still in school who were also students of another institution. The first had to drop out of my school to be focused on the other, while the second guy did both till he graduated, and at the end, he came out with good grades, just that one was better than one. He's intelligent, but then it goes beyond that, he was even doing different courses in both. Even though his parents are rich, still it tells on him, on his health and all.
We wey dey run one program self they get time wey be say we go fit like to just stop, as it is tiring and draining, not to talk of somebody with two. Two different calendars, two different exam schedules, different lecturers, different schools and all.
Come and hold Mic o
@afrikens
@mikechrist
@soma18
@chefqueen
The mic sef get weight o π
Seriously that guy na efiko and kudos to him. You said it all that it depends on the capacity though it will still tell on the person
Definitely, it will. And one will definitely affect the other.
First of all, you wroteeeeeee like fr π. But the fact that you expressed your personal thoughts quite well covers up for it.
I know students hold onto two university admissions incase of incasity but as far as I know, he/ she eventually accepts one and rejects the other.
I've never actually imagined a student accepting both and the moment I read through the question, it was a hell-no for me.
I totally disagree with a single person grasping double admissions while there are undoubtedly thousands of others fighting tooth and nail just to get one, even if it ends up being the opposite of what they desire.
And a student enrolling for two courses and coming out excellently???
While it's likely possible given the case of your friend, a wholeeeee lot goes in.
What if the person use voodoo jazz juju ? π€ππ€¨π§π
Make I chop first am coming to put mouth on this matter kambiakwanu π
You don finish? We dey wait make you come put mouthoo.
This is a literature master piece: [Literature] Charles Dickens: The Trial for Murder 2/6
My opinion on this , is simply finish up with one degree, before you start another one, coping with two degrees isn't easy, but if you feel you can ,then go ahead.
Learn to create a balance and succeed in both.
But considering how stressful our educational system is in Nigeria, it requires so much job to do both and succeed.
Well, there's no limit to what a determined person can achieve.
Just choose the right courses .
You're right.π
We're here again!

Happy weekend Odogwu ! I forgot to tag you
The boss. Happy weekend to you too.
No wahala. I still dey follow your marks.
Why will you put yourself in a delima of enrolling in two universities. If you are doing it in countries like the UK, you will probably just try to make sure to have the funds and schedule your classes because that will be the biggest challenge. You will be facing a major problem of time from the begining to the end of the course years hoping your classes, exams and tests do not clash in both schools.
Maybe having one online and the other physical would work, but it won't be less stressful. Just make sure you are not the one paying your bills. What am I even saying, you cn't be paying your bills and try that shit.
But if you decide to do it with two universities in this Nigeria, then just forget it. Only one is hell, two would be anything worse than hell. Lectures will fustrate you so bad that if they now come to know you are in two universities, you will be in soup even if the educational system tolorates it
@onyinye-chi @temisaren @oluwadrey Come check this out
first of all this is what happened to me, I studied banking and finance from the university of uyo. it wasn't untill my final year that I realise what mess I have gotten into ..
like I was literally doing two courses in one, Banking and Finance these are two separate broad areas of study that should be stand alone separately, I knew this because till my final year second semester I was doing upto 7 courses, it wasn't untill my 3rd year that I began doing courses that relate to my field, we were borrowing courses up.and down .....
now Imagine someone who had failed one or two courses that Is automatic extra year, this was too much and we thought of agitating for separation because it was too much ..
I really wanted to explore both worlds finace and banking industry but the time was short we also thought of the university making it a 5 year course if someone we are to explore both separate courses deep
now imagine a student doing two separate courses in two different universities, he or she will just crash, because the work load will be too much on him or her...
as the parable says you can't climb a tree with two things in your hands you either drop one and go with the other
it is not advisable..focus on one and make the most of it, course there's the room for masters and PhD as I have planned out ..
thankyou umunna for having mua
@abbyspecial @careergirl come tag along
ππππππ do you know that LOWKEY over the years syllabuses are being removed and added without any major or proper notice to let WE the users or students aware of what we are doing but they do that for their selfish aim. You should be lucky you didnt study history. Youβd have a different knowledge of the world from Γ person that studied from your same lecturer and school 13 years ago!
Apart from the reasons others are saying that they won't cope holding two admission at time, I also sees it as an oppression, oppression of having one degrees within four years itself has caused a lot of engagement in things and losing their lives not to talk of someone obtaining two degrees at once when there is a child like her or him at home whose parents can't even afford to enter one.
About the second question ,even trade that's not education ooo, learning two at a time , if he or she is capable mentally, physically ,he will be drained not to talk of education in this Nigeria where most students are struggling hard to graduate with one course, why do students jubilate, cry during convocation, is it not the joy that they were able to scale through, even a student that has parents to provide all still struggling mentally and physically.
It's not even a talk to say, they should be allowed to stude two course at a time .
π What if they use jazz
Good evening everyone, happy Friday. π
Good evening sis. Hope your day went well?
It did and you?
Happy weekend!
Students should be allowed to seek admission in any university that they choose to and also accept admission from anyone that they prefer.
Students are doing that because Nigeria Universities are not predictable. So they don't want to take chances
Thatβs fine yes but not 2 at a time please π
I think the educational system has already been established the best possible pattern and should not allow students to hold multiple university admissions at the same time.
What I think educational systems should do now is allowing each student to focus on a particular admission and if desired to acquire more should enroll and not doing both at same time
The system now needs to create jobs related to each studentβs career and making it easy for graduates to be employed immediately at the end of the school admission years rather than allowing multiple admissions
Itβs not established to be the best as we speak. There are still lots of flaws in it but yes 2 degrees at a time wonβt work out
