Hello, my lovely Hive Naija people. It’s another beautiful weekend, and we’re excited to have you here once again. A new weekend simply means another chance to buzz the Hive blockchain, connect with one another, and simply have fun. You'll also agree with me that there’s something special about bringing everyone together to gist, share opinions, and enjoy good vibes. That is exactly the reason we will continue to meet every weekend.

OBJECTIVE

Sam's Hangout is focused on promoting the togetherness of the Nigerian brethren through active engagement on the blockchain. Beyond that, it is also centered towards the wellbeing of everyone who takes part in our weekend discussions and helps keep our discord running with their presence.

NIGERIA: HOPE OR DESPAIR?

Now to our discussion for this weekend! We will be discussing "NIGERIA: HOPE OR DESPAIR?”.
Over the past 8 years, there's been records of higher rates of unemployment, economic hardship and insecurity, inflation, and concerns about bad governance, all of which have caused many Nigerians to face much more significant challenges in their daily lives. While some remain hopeful that the country can recover through reforms, active citizenship, and collective effort, others believe the problems and rot have eaten too deep into every corner of the country to overcome. This raises important questions about what patriotism truly means and whether hope alone is enough to drive change.

Here's the question!

Despite Nigeria's current challenges, do you still believe the country can become a place where citizens can live safely, express themselves freely, have access to basic amenities, and thrive in their various businesses or careers without the government making things more difficult? If yes, what gives you hope, and what practical changes do you think are urgently needed to move the nation forward?

"If you already insist that Nigeria has little to no chances of getting better again, what do you then think makes others remain hopeful? Is it because they genuinely believe things will improve, or because hope is the only thing they can hold on to as giving up feels like accepting defeat? At what point does this patriotism become blind optimism to you?
