Hello, my lovely Hive Naija people. It’s another beautiful weekend, and we’re excited to have you here once again. A new weekend simply means another chance to buzz the Hive blockchain, connect with one another, and simply have fun. You'll also agree with me that there’s something special about bringing everyone together to gist, share opinions, and enjoy good vibes. That is exactly the reason we will continue to meet every weekend.

Sam's Hangout is focused on promoting the togetherness of the Nigerian brethren through active engagement on the blockchain. Beyond that, it is also centered towards the wellbeing of everyone who takes part in our weekend discussions and helps keep our discord running with their presence.
Note that this account was created to make the engagement more personal and official. You can check out the INTRODUCTION POST to learn more about our purpose and vision.
Please, do not forget to follow this account so you don’t miss out on future hangout posts and updates.
Our previous topic was ”HONESTY OR HARMONY"

The responses were super amazing and we had over 90+ comments filled with honest opinions, jokes, harmless banter, and fresh perspectives to learn from. The energy was truly contagious. Now, let’s see if we can beat our all-time high again this weekend, shall we? Please try to encourage responses by replying to one another. Remember, engagement is what makes this hangout special.

A topic will be dropped every Friday on this account. Do well to share your thoughts, respond to someone else’s opinion, and feel free to interrogate or add more context on it respectfully. If you don’t have anything new to add, simply reply to another comment in agreement. We encourage you to tag your friends to join the discussion so we can have a fuller house.
All interactions should happen in the comment section, because that’s where the real gist goes down.

This week's hangout starts immediately this post goes live and ends on Sunday by 11:59 pm.

Now to our discussion for this weekend! We will be discussing "AI ABUSE”.
The adoption of Artificial intelligence softwares across the world has been impressively successful and as these AI systems continue to evolve, so does the concerns about how easily they can be abused. From generating fake conversations and misleading content to violating people’s privacy through manipulated images and videos, many have started questioning whether our society is truly prepared for the consequences of unchecked AI use. While some believe AI is simply a tool whose impact depends on the user, others insist that the rapid advancement is overriding ethical responsibility and regulation.
Here's the question!
If you have a topic you would like us to discuss in our future hangouts, please feel free to suggest it to us in the comment section and tag @sam.hangout to it.
Okay Let's Gist!!!

Don't you think we are forgetting somebody?... Well, I'm sure we are...

To make our hangout more interactive, we have decided to add two events to spice it up.
On Saturdays, we share our owanbe stories, party gists, and even pictures.
On Sundays, we reflect on the weekend and things we learnt so far, as well as share plans for the new week.
Don't forget to join us!!

There are no strict rules as regards this weekend hangout. Feel free to speak any Nigerian language you like, whether Igbo, Yoruba, pidgin, Efik, or others, as long as it can be understood.
With all that said, let the discussion begin...

I manage to attend a training and write a quiz....came back home now so tired ...just resting on.my bed
That's how far my Saturday is going
It has really been a long day for me and even though I look so tired and stressed I am still the most happiest person. My dad's birthday and the gift of a beautiful princess to my family was more than enough for me
Hello Guys 🥰
I hope you all had a wonderful Saturday ☺️
Mine was extremely stressful and long, didn't even had the chance to write a post. As usual, there was no Owanbe to attend to attend this week, I believe I will be attending one soon.
AI is a good technology and has impacted our world in many positive ways.
That's why, I believe, AI is not the real problem, but rather the user's intention creates problem.
The impact of Ai tools depends solely on humans intentions and how they utilize them.
The real solution is guiding how Ai should be used by encouraging people to use it wisely.
One of the ways is by creating proper education on how AI works and how AI content can be manipulated in our society, because the rate people abuse AI can mislead others. Educating people will minimize the wrong use of AI from affecting others.
Also, there should be proper transparency. For instance, if a work was generated using AI, the creator of such work should indicate that it's not an original masterpiece.
If an AI content causes harm, fraud, discrimination, and deception, the user should face the consequences. This would help control how people use AI and limit harmful usage.
People should be free to explore the ideas, and create innovative content, but they should also understand the consequences of misusing AI content.

Here's the weekly hangout. Feel free to engage and contribute 😉
Finally its here again
AI is not the problem it's the users and how they abuse it.
I have not been impersonated before or scamed online.
But people have experienced it.
And let's not blame AI but let's blame the users.
Goodnight loves
See ya tomorrow

You will hv carry over for this list
Sorry grandmama 🫡
Good evening @marsdave and everyone tagged 👋
Late night crew checking in. I saw the AI quote at the top and it hit me — I’m guilty of thinking I “get” AI just because I use it to write posts 😅
This week’s been slow on my end, but I’m back to keep the streak going. Appreciate the weekly hangout, it’s one of the few places that feels like a real convo and not just a post-and-ghost zone.
What’s everyone working on this week? I’m trying to fix my timing so I can catch the Hive Reachout window tomorrow.
Thanks for having us @nc6 🙏
Smiles... love the self-awareness 😂
Sounds like a confession if I'm not mistaken 😁🫣. But then, AI generated posts are prohibited on here(hive), they love originality, just be you 💪.
I have a lot on my plate this weekend, and I doubt if I will be able to achieve it all, still, I won't overwork myself. I'm taking it one at a time 🤏

This is really a fact
Ai is not a substitute for human thinking.
But but an aid to human creativity.
you've got the right words, that's incredible
Talking about the misuse of AI.
I believe it's because of the misuse that made some people or should I say company's development the Ideas of making AI first in their activities, eliminating the human connections they had.. do you know that they are people who use AI to ask everything, especially from school. they are many students in university today who are far from graduating because they always use AI for everything, and they still get caught. AI is really dominating the brain of people, especially the kids.. Happy Sunday all, wishing you a blessed Sunday.
No owambe today ohhh, Omo na here we day through our yesterday 😊😊, how's your primary election going? abi you don't resign from voting??

Like one of the prompts I wrote a few weeks ago. These tools are not the problem but when they fall into the wrong hands, they become a weapon of destruction. The same applies to AI. When it first came out, people were using it for a good purpose, but it fell into the wrong hands, and that's when we started seeing all these deepfakes and the like.
In my opinion, one way to encourage the use of AI is to educate people properly on its applications. The disadvantages and disadvantages of using it. And the freedom to explore new ideas should not be taken away from us because doing so might suppresses progress in a way
In other words, there should be a solid foundation on how to use it, while those two misuse it will be held accountable
@betheloji12 @afrikens @marsdave @amara24 come and drop your 2cent
Yea, you nailed it bro.
Hy my love
How are you thank you for taking me.
AI is not the problem but the users are the problem here. If it falls into the wrong hands we can't control what happens again.
Dropping my 2Cents here.
We go again tomorrow.
Thank you @goldenproject for tagging me
We share the same idea, when people are educated on advantages and disadvantages of use, I believe our problem will be minimised.
Evening Fams, just want to drop my 2-50cent before dozing off 😍😍😍
Now, the misuse of AI in our society has become a serious threat to almost everything, especially to privacy and human dignity. And it's something we all can testify too, AI can help generate images or videos that will look so real it won't be that easy to tell. I made a post some months ago and generated the image for it via Gemini or Chatgpt, can't recall, but then, someone commented on the post to ask how I was able to prompt AI to make that kind of image, somebody else message me in discord to ask about the image too, it was just too real. And that's how it is, some are just experts in these things, they can use it to clone voices, images and all thereby using it to spread false info. We see these things online, it affects government officials, celebrities and even we The common man. The problem now is, it is not always so easy to tell if it's fake or not.
Now, I think there should be very strict punishments for those abusing and misusing AI. We all know how helpful, useful, and powerful AI is, for that reasons it needs to be regulated, if not it will cause more harm than good to the society.
About if Ai is the problem, I will gladly say no. The real problem is those using it, and their intentions. Over the year, a lot of things has changed and happened, and tech has helped bring about a lot of things, talk of smartphones, gadgets and the likes, now it's AI. AI itself has also proven to be very helpful, we can see people making use of it in almost every sector, talk of education, health, agriculture, finance, businesses and a whole lot.
Now,the problem is how dependent we are on it. It has affect our thinking and creativity. A lot of people can no longer think for themselves or answer simple questions. I got shocked the day I saw a guy in church preparing for a program and asking chatgpt questions... Including prayer points o... Omo 😱.
It is well sha, I believe there's a way we can balance things, I make use of AI too, but I don't depend on it, I try to think for myself, and do certain things on my own. There's the need to teach and educate the masses on responsible AI use, ethics, and originality...
AI should/must not replace us, it is a tool, and it should remain one.
Thank you for your attention to this matter 🫡.

I agree that there should be strict laws and serious punishment for people who deliberately misuse AI to harm others. Every powerful technology can become dangerous when abused. I think punishment alone is not enough. There should also be proper education, ethical guidelines, and responsible control of AI development so that it benefits society instead of causing damage
Definitely Mama. I very well agree with you. There's the need to teach responsible AI use and ethics 🤏
Nice point, Marsdave 👏
Thanks Mama 😁
AI has been a game changer. I don't think there has been an agent driving changes in our society as fast as AI is.
Good things can be done faster and more efficiently. Same applies to the bad things.
AI was meant as a tool for achieving great things, now sophisticated problems like impersonation, false narratives, and advance security breaches have come up.
We're trying to solve these same problems created by AI using AI.
AI can give you massive results and progress at scale, but it also has to be regulated to ensure the best intentions from users, especially now that AI is being used for something like national defence and finance.
Hahahaha, I love that tune, we are trying to solve the same problem created by AI while using AI.
Sounds catchy. Haha
AI IS A TOOL SND IT SHOULD NOT REPLACE US 💯
Just like every other thing in our lives, AI has an advantage and a disadvantage and from the look of things it is not always the thing itself that is the problem, it is the people using it that are the problem.
AI was supposed to be like a support to people, but today many people are using it for the wrong thing just like they usually do, nothing comes out and remains that way till extinction, it's either it is changed and later forced to extinction because of the abuse or it is changed and continues to be used but limited because people are afraid of getting exposed and in the process being harmed.
Although this may not be related but I just found out that there is a shade or sunglasses that now snaps and record people without them knowing, do we understand that evil or deadly actions could be carried out with that especially for people who may not even know about the new development or who may likely not be able to differentiate the ordinary shades and the customised ones when they see it. Someone could come into your home snap or record your privacy without the owner's knowing.
The rules are to put people in check, just maybe if it is placed, it would curb but most times it is the people who know the law and feel they are above the law that do these things
The point about Ai shades is true. I think it's one of the Mark Zuckerberg gave out the time he hosted some popular Facebook influencers last year. Not so sure, though. Seriously, there should be a restriction on the use of these kind of shades, if not outright banning because people are and will continue to abuse it's use.
!BBH
Gbam! I only knew about it in one movie acted and produced by Bimbo two months ago if I am not mistaken. It's terrible and considering how my country is, I am sure the ones who will be able to afford it, will start using it the wrong way.

You get! Na so e be for this our side ooo, we dey always wan go overboard once something enter our hand.
God go help us
I think this is the time this saying "believe everything you see online at your own peril" should be taken more seriously because the extent to which people abuse the use of AI tools is alarming.
The online space is flooded with so many contents that one doesn't knows which is real or AI. Some are so clean that it'd be difficult to spot the Ainism in them. Lol.
AI itself, isn't bad, neither is it a problem, rather the people using it are. AI was meant to be a tool for special purposes, but people have turned it into a weapon of mass destruction - unscrupulous activities and the likes.
There should be some rules guiding the use of AI tools, and any defaulter should be made to face the consequences. Unfortunately, we're in a country where anything goes.
I think the owners of these social media platforms should look into this issue, and probably put a restriction on its usage and if possible, ban anyone found wanting in the use of AI tools.
I don tok my own.
You get! I see things and I'm genuinely scared for myself because how did we get to this point?
We are in a lawless country 😆
We got here right from the time when our lawmakers became law breakers.
The problem is not the AI itself, but how humans choose to use it. Instead of turning it into a weapon of mass destruction, people should focus on using it responsibly. The matter self don tire me.
That's how it should be, but you know, evil minded people will always abuse its usage.
!BBH
Good morning my kontri pple. This week topic is very vital and maybe an opportunity for us to share our view and prepare our mind for what is coming ahead.
The issue of misuse of AI advancement in our world today is already a threat to humans in diverse ways
This days, it is getting so harder to know what is real or fake on the internet. People manipulate others anyhow and do other unimaginable things using AI and yet we are still comfortable thinking it's still an advancement to assist humans .
Well, the earlier the better,so I think there should be strict regulations and punishments to those that abuse this tool . Let there be a standing laws that will punish anyone who intentionally use AI for fraud, impersonation, blackmail, cyberbullying, or other firm of fake info pple spread on the Internet to mislead others, with this ,maybe thus abuse will be curtailed for our own good.
I strongly believe that the way people use AI is what truly matters. AI has both good and bad sides. Today, if you look at social media platforms, AI-generated videos have flooded the internet so much that they are gradually pushing aside parts of the real movie industry. Everywhere you look AI, they have both for children and for adults all are busy watching or even creating AI movies.
Another example is the newly invented smart eye glasses that can secretly record events happening around people. While these glasses have helped expose some wrong activities that might never have been discovered, they also raise serious concerns about privacy and misuse.
Our children are not left out in this AI era. Many children now depend on phones and AI tools to search for answers to their assignments. Before AI became common, students had to read textbooks, visit libraries, and think more deeply to complete their work. Today, some students rely too much on AI instead of learning for themselves. I even heard that the girl who scored highest in the last JAMB examination said she used AI to summarize
her study questions.
There are many examples that i
can not discuss because of time. In conclusion, I believe AI itself is not the real problem. The main issue is the people using it. If AI is used responsibly, it can improve education, communication, security, and many other areas of life. But when it is misused, it can create laziness, spread false information, and threaten privacy and creativity.
Make I paused here go call @amara24 @zusi78 @kachy2022 make them come collect this 🎤 my hand de heavy me.😜😜😜
Nice topic!
Will just be dropping few points.
I think it's not new that there is surely disadvantages that comes along with advantages, which AI isn't left out, Since AI started existing it has done both good and bad to the society, though the intention for creating it was only to be at an advantage to us but then there human who will always misuse things asking as it is in their capacity. AI has done both wrong just like other technology introduced,it is we people that's controlling the usage the problem and there's nothing to control human for a change than punishment, once there's serious consequences for those that abuse it,impersonating, invading people's privacy and lot more .
Just like hive punishment people who uses AI to write their post by downvoting them, this has made people here stick to using their brain as long as they need hive money. That's just how to keep human on track works.
Happy weekend and have a great one .
I will be busy as I have a student to take today .

Hello everyone,
In this life every thing has it's pro and con and that goes with the use of AI too.
We shouldn't blame the technology but then let blame those who use it because the technology cannot just stand up and use itself, its how people use it that affects the society or those they use it against. So here is what I think, there should be limit to how things are being used for real , and we humans should have sympathy towards people that such AI use is being directed at.
There should be limits to everything seriously. There should.
@henryjnrr @cohlson @afrikens @merit.ahama
Happy weekend to you all.
What's supping?
Hello my people,
AI is not the problem, the intention of the users is the issue to be considered.
AI is a tool in the hands of his users.
The usage control and proper acknowledgement of the use of AI is one important consideration. Sadly, the rate of over dependency on Ai is affecting creativity of humans.
Students just dumped their homework on Ai and copy out the answers.
Most times, on probing further you will be shocked that they don't even know or understand the meaning of what the copied out.
If restrictions are placed, it may curtail the abuse partly.
Although some people will still manoeuvre to use it. Just like the PG (parental guidance)and G13(general viewing) rating on some television programs, not every parent or guardian has been able to enforce it fully. Ai is not replacing humans, humans are the one giving Ai that replacement power.
Happy weekend...🥂
Pretty soon, when AI will have the power not to take stupid orders.
And users data will be a threat to not fooling around with it.
The abuse will stop.
For now, I think it juat needs to see how far human studpidity can go, we are still in the training phase, just be careful, AI does not forget.
Yes, AI is becoming a threat to trust and human dignity online. I can't blame it on the use because the feature to impersonate was added to its creation and it keeps getting refined daily, attempting to meet perfection. To every creation, there's a positive and negative side. While people may boast of its diverse advantages, it promotes features that aid manipulation, impersonation, and privacy violations.
A scammer can make a video call using AI features, changing his look to another person to look real, and other forms where AI is used for deceit. People use it because the tool exists and can't completely be blamed for lack of discipline. What better way can such features be used, knowing certain humans are out for no good?
Restrictions:
Restrictions can be placed where people are checked to see if they have the right to certain images. Certain tools should be available to specific groups of people after careful verification, plus a detailed record of the user in case of misuse.
As for punishment, a year in prison would do well.
Good day, my fellow Nigerians. Hope your day is going well. My take on how AI is all-over nowadays and How it has contributed in helping us to create online stuffs easily. AI its self is a tool on its own, and we only use it to solve our problems easily. Well... I can't say that AI is the cause of any problem at all because what ever that is good also has its disadvantages. That is to sey that if a user uses it on the right way, it contributes in developing good things in our society but. When used in inappropriate, like using it to hurt others. Then it creates more harm to our environment.
But I think, it is better if law is enforced on the use of every AI innovation So that each AI can be customised in such a way that no one can use it to create fake news, or generate fake identities... It may help in reducing online crimes like scam.
Happy Sunday friends ❤️
