As we all know, today has been declared good Friday, a solemn Christian holiday that symbolizes the death of Jesus Christ. On this day, Christians are expected to remember the deep sacrifice that was made on the cross of calvary; the sufferings and crucifixion that took place for the redemption of every soul. It's a day for personal reflection, one that implores everyone to take lessons from the great love of Christ, in hopes that it influences how they treat one another here on earth. But like every other religious holidays, it is important to know if the essence is still being preserved by those who observe it.

So truly Good Friday has its own kind of importance to many believers,it is seen as a day that jesus died for our sins, here at home, it has alot of significance. And I can still say it is a day that we all should take seriously to reflect on life itself.
So in days like this In my house we attend church programme, we fast for the day just to keep It holy and then we sometimes sing hymns about the death of jesus and his risen again.

I must commend this is one of the best ways to spend this day. How your family is intentional about it is great.
For every believer, this should really be a day of reflection. Not as a routine or ritual, but to recognise and be reminiscent in the reality that Jesus died for us, for our sins, so we ought to live for Him.

I think in all Christian homes, it's a norm. Some usually have a special church program on that day because it's a holiday too, while some celebrate the day at home and reflect on their lives if they are still in line of Christ.

Truth be told, I'm not moved by Easter and even Christmas, there's nothing attached to my Friday, no personal reflection, not engaging in any different spiritual activity, just my regular prayers and my usual day.
I respect those who celebrate Easter, their believes and opinions. Gone are those days I act like I feel something different at Easter or even Christmas.
It's just a regular Friday for me, being me and doing the regular. Looking forward to watching a movie tonight, definitely not Passion of Christ.

First off, I believe this is the time to remember/reflect on the sacrifice of Christ, how he has choosed to love us and forgive us.
Well, that was how it was while I was till growing up, it goes beyond just a date and all of that, but at the moment it's no longer like that, not as if I've lost my faith but then I feel the real message of good Friday is no longer reflecting in how most of us live, I am saying that because a lot of us are now so focused on our struggles, how to survive, how to make ends meet and all of that, so it's begining to feel more symbolic for most us....
As it is now, most of us just posted on our status and just go about our day, while some of us didn't even post anything about it because we are so busy trying to hustle and survive and the deep meaning behind good Friday which is love, forgiveness, sacrifice and all of that is most times not remembered during the course of the day....
Personally, I do not hold much to Good Friday, unlike when I was still growing up. Things seems to be a bit better then, so we reflect, see it as sacred and try to adjust our lives and doings to the Christ like nature. But today it's not like that anymore, even though I still try to create some minutes to reflect and think of His finished work on the cross and how I can become more kind, loving and forgiving. ...which to be honest with you, I haven't have the time for it today sef 🥺🥺

Indeed, it's a day of total reflection about the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. It's been 6 hours of good Friday activities in my church where the youth have been acting drama showing the journey of Jesus and his suffering until he finally died on the cross.
While on this journey since morning, I saw some persons crying passionately seeing how the guy that acted Jesus was being tormented ...that's a heart breaking down from these persons crying but then, are we really living our lives to show that his death isn't just symbolic?
Well,I don't think so for many people. A lot of us christians do it as ceremonial but not really allowing the sacrifice in the cross to hv positive impact in our lives,if not why does evil keep prevailing ? Brothers fighting each other, kilimgs, friends betraying each other ,cheating of all kinds and more...
I really hope that we humbly reflect genuinely and let the purpose of the death of Jesus make difference in our lives by striving to live an upright life at all times

This comment struck me because it highlights the exact questions I often ask about religious holidays. Clearly, we can see that we no longer take our lessons from these days and we also do not implement Christ's teachings in our lives. How then do we expect to be better humans, as Christians? I'm glad your church still upholds the tradition of reminding the congregation of Christ's sufferings. Hopefully, some will have their hearts turned back to God and goodwill. Implementing the teachings is almost a bygone and it's sad...daily we crucify Jesus again via our actions...I really hope we can live as pple that was paid such a huge price for on the cross

Most people just show the reflection during times like this and when it's over, they go back to their old times both Muslim and Christian. During Ramadan,I see guys that smokes and so all sort of things putting on their prayer attire and going to mosques same as Christian observing their as well but that's all just for the moment.
I'm observing Good Friday today by not eating animal that has blood as we've always practiced for childhood but sitting and reflecting like reading Bible and sort cannot happen because I dey work as I dey type like this, country hard,man must survive.

Good Friday is a special time for Christians. One that usually comes with sober reflections.
However, I think good Friday has become more of a symbolic observance.
Good Friday is supposed to influence the lives of Christians and be reflected in the decisions Christians make. But the way a lot of Christians behave,even before and after good Friday, it's obvious that to most, good Friday is more or less, a symbolic observance.

Honestly, it’s been a while since i did anthology spiritual on this day. The last i did was a long time ago and that was when u was still at home with my mum and siblings. It has been a surreal day for my family. Though, we celebrate this day differently.Growing up as a child with my parents, we were taught to live our lives as if to say we are dying that day. Meaning that you dont wait for a Good Friday to reminiscent the sufferings and death of Christ on the cross to live right.
However, I do join my Sister to attend their church Solemn Assembly to reminiscent his deeds and the pasaion of Christ. Deep reflection about his sufferings and death are prohected.
Howwver, in this occasion,while i was conceentrating on the teachings, a middle agwd woman was heavily watching ahort films on Facebook distracting me. This forced me to report her when I couldnt take it any longer.
In summary, people are not really taking this things to heart deeply. Just on the peripheral. And it is a pity. The reason why evil is thriving. No deep sense of love and forgiveness. People living fake lives different from what Christ lived for.
May God help us to adjust 🙏

personally my day was going just off the hook till this evening I'm like wait a minute today is GOOD FRIDAY and all of a sudden it dawn on me what transpired today in history.
i feel Good Friday same as every other festive days is like a season were people just use to feel alive go out merry drink and eat and have fun, the main purpose of the day is not practice...
personally what christ did thousand of years ago still stances and this practice will go on till he returns, to me Good friday is a day to bring back to our memories what Christ did for us, if it was possible he would have turned back but he had to do it anyways, it wasn't an easy fit to pull and we have to respect that and honour this day and make it holy
Yeah it's good Friday, Easter season. This is the time we reflect on God's sacrificial lamb, that went on the cross for our remission of sin and his sacrificial love he gave us.. This Easter on like other ones i will stay indoor, but this time around, I decided to go for a retreat, there i have personal time for myself, its a time i pray, meditate, hear God's word and reflect on his excess love towards me and him dieing on the cross of Calvary to save mankind.

Well, Good Fridy should be a day of rembrance and deep reflection.
Some people still do and observe it and reflect on the sacrifice of Christ. But some only sees it as a normal day.
My neighbor who has been playing ceculler music is playing gospel tune today.
This is one day when we have this personal reflections of our journey whether we're still in line or not with the Love that Christ preached and sacrificed for.
Unfortunately, the reflection isn't coming easily except we see movies and graphics that remind us, we cry as we watch, feel Remorseful, a minute repentance, movie ends, tears dries off, we go back to our previous lives.
The world is at the time where the beloved can only be saved by grace alongside our efforts to remain saved. So my prayer always is that God should grant us the abundant grace to stick to him especially at this time of life
And I think one thing they do say you shouldn't eat on a good Friday is meat or anything that has blood.

So finally I went to an event today and it was a 50th birthday party. Thankfully, nothing disturbed this party unlike the wedding of last week that I couldn't attend
So the birthday was nice with the MC giving us back to back vibes.
I ate, moved my steeve body small and the rest.... I wanted to take Amala and gbegiri but then I remember my nails so I had to opt for rice. Though e pain me small cos I'm fed up of rice already. Yeah I went to church and we were enlightened more on Easter celebration. It is not really about the food and drinks but the main reason behind the season for celebration and with even the celebration as point of discussion, most people do not count Easter to be a big celebration but would rather spend so much for Christmas than Easter. Whereas Easter is the main reason why we are being called Christians and can stand up against any power to cast and bind them in his name.
We were also taught that we should always look forward to great things, miracles and answered prayers after Easter. It's not just a celebration but an encounter and we were also made to understand the special power and attention the female gender gets from God and I also saw how special we are indeed

Yes I went to church, today is first Sunday of the month, and also a Thanksgiving Sunday, coupled the fact that today is also Easter Sunday, I won't have missed today service for anything. I was happy being in the presence of God, knowing fully well that dead and the grave could not hold Jesus Christ, he overcame them all and the same we his children nothing can stop us from overcoming death, perils and struggles of life as the risen Messiah overcame. That's our hope in christ. So today's services was full of reflection of God's kindness and compassion for paying the price on the cross and overcoming death by resurrection. In all I am grateful to God for life and adding another gracious and beautiful year to my life this month.
I spent my Sunday eating some good meals for Easter and also resting.

Of course, I went to church to learn and study at Jesus' feet.
We were taught about how necessary is sacrifice by us the believers to God Almighty.
Jesus went to the cross and sacrificed his life for us to live. We were taught about the numerous benefits in sacrificing your best to God for Him to multiply your blessings.
You will never lack any good thing!
The movie, "The passion of the Christ acted by Gibson" was shown to us in half a way, while the choir ministered the song.
It was very emotional and touched the heart, even till now, my memory keeps going back there in the eyes of my spirit man....so painful 😣,
