Hello, my lovely Hive Naija people. Itβs another beautiful weekend, and weβre excited to have you here once again. A new weekend simply means another chance to buzz the Hive blockchain, connect with one another, and simply have fun. You'll also agree with me that thereβs something special about bringing everyone together to gist, share opinions, and enjoy good vibes. That is exactly the reason we will continue to meet every weekend.

Sam's Hangout is focused on promoting the togetherness of the Nigerian brethren through active engagement on the blockchain. Beyond that, it is also centered towards the wellbeing of everyone who takes part in our weekend discussions and helps keep our discord running with their presence.
Note that this account was created to make the engagement more personal and official. You can check out the INTRODUCTION POST to learn more about our purpose and vision.
Please, do not forget to follow this account so you donβt miss out on future hangout posts and updates.
Our previous topic was βCULTURE, EXPRESSION & OWNERSHIP"

The responses were super amazing and we had over 130+ comments filled with honest opinions, jokes, harmless banter, and fresh perspectives to learn from. The energy was truly contagious. Now, letβs see if we can beat our all-time high again this weekend, shall we? Please try to encourage responses by replying to one another. Remember, engagement is what makes this hangout special.

A topic will be dropped every Friday on this account. Do well to share your thoughts, respond to someone elseβs opinion, and feel free to interrogate or add more context on it respectfully. If you donβt have anything new to add, simply reply to another comment in agreement. We encourage you to tag your friends to join the discussion so we can have a fuller house.
All interactions should happen in the comment section, because thatβs where the real gist goes down.

This week's hangout starts immediately this post goes live and ends on Sunday by 11:59 pm.

Now to our discussion for this weekend! We will be discussing βRAMADAN REFLECTIONSβ. Itβs been exactly one week since the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, and as always, Muslims made the day memorable with worship, family visits, and plenty of food to share with loved ones. However, before the celebrations came the month-long fasting period, which is considered a significant part of the Muslim faith. During this time, many muslims face moments of challenges and temptations regarding their personal relationship with Allah and living a disciplined life. At the end of it all, there's always a lesson to take from the experience.
Hereβs the question!
Our physical hangout is still on our minds and big plans are being made behind the scenes. Please check our Last Post for updates, and thank you to everyone contributing towards making it a reality.
If you have a topic you would like us to discuss in our future hangouts, please feel free to suggest it to us in the comment section and tag @sam.hangout to it.
Okay Let's Gist!!!

Don't you think we are forgetting somebody?... Well, I'm sure we are...

To make our hangout more interactive, we have decided to add two events to spice it up.
On Saturdays, we share our owanbe stories, party gists, and even pictures.
On Sundays, we reflect on the weekend and things we learnt so far, as well as share plans for the new week.
Don't forget to join us!!

There are no strict rules as regards this weekend hangout. Feel free to speak any Nigerian language you like, whether Igbo, Yoruba, pidgin, Efik, or others, as long as it can be understood.
With all that said, let the discussion begin...

Happy weekend, Nigerians!π₯° I hope we're all having a swell weekend. Though I was indisposed during the Eid celebrations and couldn't join in the merriment, I must mention that I've always admired the intentionality of Muslims during Ramadan. My oldest neighbours are Muslims and during each fasting period, I learn both patience and discipline from them.
Seeing how dedicated they usually are during Ramadan and even less performative, fasting from dusk to dawn, in a bid to get more closer to Allah, I make it my responsibility to help them achieve this goal. I ensure not to make raw jokes around them, tempt them with my meals or use any type of curse words when engaging with them. During Ramadan, my family also supported them with evening meals to break their fast on some days, and they were most grateful for the gesture. Seeing them being appreciative of the little things even after all these years makes all the difference and I wish every Muslim continous growth in their spiritual journey.
Happy weekend fam.β€οΈ

As a Muslim it will be very bad of me to skip this topic.
Happy weekend to you all once again.
Ramadan is a season of decipline. A month of self improvement.
And I'm glad I achieved all that during this Ramadan period.
One of the steps I took was consistently observing my prayers, ensuring my rak'ahs wee observed at the right time.
I also ensure to recite the Qur'an. I won't lie it wasn't that easy or simple.
There were times of temptation, battling with myself internally, while Trying to improve myself.
Sometimes I get tired and angry or irritated especially when the clock seems it's not moving.πππ
But I will remind myself that Ramadan is not just about not eating for hours, but it is also about controlling my thoughts, words, and emotions.
I think before I speak,
I choose silence when I'm overwhelmed because I don't want my next actions to be harsh.
I stayed away from conversations that might lead to negative thoughts or behaviour.
All this does not make me feel being forced or pretence.
It thought me self control, decipline, patience.
And all these are needed in our daily life not just Ramadan.
Thank you for reading until the end.βΊοΈπ

I only had the chance of having Muslim friends during my service year. Currently, we are far from each other, but I reached out to them through test messages and calls. The only time I had an opportunity to merry with them was my service year, and I enjoyed the celebration with them last year.

So, during the fasting period, I tried my best to maintain peace like always, am a man of peace so it wasn't as if I feigned it.. I was just me. But then, I tried as much as possible to not say or do things that might affect their fast or make it not acceptable cos I can be very naughty at times πππ«£.
Also, during this eid that just passed, I should a little bit of kindness by buying the bottle of coke for the kids around, even though I had to ask two person to share one bottle, they are much and me sef no too carry ππ«£. But I gave one of them something, just a small thing when I heard you completed his fast without breaking any of it...it amazed me.
Some of my neighbors who knew I was a Corper brought food which I had to later give out not because of the eid celebration but because I don't eat out (whether ya a Christian or Muslim, I don't eat out). My neighbors already knew me for that so they didn't even bother to give me food, they gave me malt drinks though πππ, same goes with my students and I still have up to like 5 or 6 bottles of coke at home(both big and small)

I can't really relate with this topic cos I didn't find myself in that situation.
But still, I know that before, during or after the period, I didn't get involved in anything that could disrupt their fast or tempt them to attempt breaking it.
Unless they're close to my locust beans fried pepper sha, the aroma can be disturbing
Please, I want to be close to your locust beans fried pepper ma. I want to see if it will disturb me.

Happy Sunday my lovely people . I attended church service today and the lesson I learned was about thanksgiving to God. Cultivating a habit of gratitude to God in every situation we find ourselves , weda good or bad, just say thank you God .he sees us!
I didn't go to my own church service though cos attending is like a risk on my voice since they won't allow me stay like a normal human being member unless I sing and I had to just manage my voice. Only @marsdave could understand the pressure weh dey my head in the morning π so at past 1pm I left home to attend the program I was invited for and all glory returned to God, cos he took charge of everything including my voice.
Somebody shout GLORY!
@van.illa @chefqueen @yechee @oluwadrey come and share what you learnt in church today... Na only Drey I trust for this list π

What's going on in these posts @samostically?
I noticed your vote on these and that it mentions there's another author but why are you the recipient of the rewards? What does the author get for writing these posts? Why are there no curation on the comment section?
Looking in without knowing it seems you're trying to extract as much rewards as possible at the cost of others who don't seem to be rewarded in any way I can tell from outgoing transactions, etc, except for a vote or two on the top comment here from the author.
It's a bit suspicious to say the least.
Used to use commentrewarder before. But Iβve not been very active recently. We have a discord channel where we reward and support active engagers. From next week, we would revert back to commentrewarder.
Okay, thanks for the info. I'd also suggest giving the author beneficiary rewards, an upvote on their comment does not justify taking advantage of an authors time and effort while you get most of the rewards just cause of your position/stake/autovotes. I.e. ghost writing is not something that's popular on hive for good reason, when we can just reward the author directly.
