Images in this post are from our trip to Manhattan.
Today, Splinterlands season ended early in the morning. It seems that survival mode at the end of this season was much harder and less rewarding in terms of SPS compared to the seasons before this one.
Did anyone else notice this? My Survival mode earnings were worth only about two days of ranked play.
These first two images in this post were taken by me from the top of the Empire State building.
We were not going to go there, and it was a last-minute addition to our trip. We were able to do it because we changed our minds about going to Brighton Beach.
We wanted to go to Brighton Beach to have our daughter ride the subway and to show her the Little Soviet Union / Russia that Brighton Beach is.
There are russian stores and restaurants at Brighton Beach, and one of her favorite TV shows: Person of Interest was filmed there.
I think it would have been cool to walk around the Brighton Beach boardwalk where Elias from Person of Interest was filmed and to see the Atlantic Ocean.
The weather was kind of cold, and we were so not used to as much walking around as we did in New York. I got over fourteen thousand steps every single day, and we were completely exhausted every single day even though we tried to take it easy.
The first day we arrived, we went to a rooftop restaurant right by our hotel and called it good.
It was good as we were already tired from a six hour flight and about an hour Uber ride from airport to the city.
The next day, we visited Times Square and went for a cruise to see Manhattan from water and to see Elis Island and the Statue of Liberty.
That was a nice ride despite the cold and rainy weather that day.
We had New York Pizza while visiting the Times Square, and it was really good. I am not the biggest fan of thin crust pizza, but the way they do it in New York is really good!
Yeah, the toppings were pretty basic compared to Zeeks Pizza in the Seattle area, but even with thin crust and basic toppings that Pizza was very good.
We visited two pizza places in Manhattan, and both were amazing. We were planning to visit the famous Pizza place that is in the old church building, but the wait was around an hour and we just couldn't imagine waiting for a pizza table for an hour. It is just Pizza, how amazing can it be?
The pizza places are on every corner in Midtown, and according to ratings, most of them are pretty good.
So we went to Carnegie Pizza instead since the famous pizza doesn't take reservations for a group of three.
Another cool place that we visited during our trip was the Grand Central Station.
Grand Central Station is also frequently featured in various shows. When we came there, we stopped by the ticket counters where Alexandra from the show 1923 was buying her ticket to Montana.
1923 is a great show and the one that stays with you for a few days after you are done watching it. It was a bit brutal and a bit too racy at times for an eleven year old daughter, so we had her leave the room on more than one occasion.
It is a great show and has Harrison Ford in it, so I highly recommend it.

It's been forever since I have been to Manhattan. I keep telling my wife we need to go there. I have some old shots from the top of the Empire State Building too. The pizza looks amazing. New York Style is probably my favorite, tied up there with Detroit style
Never tried Detroit style pizza. And yes, in terms of pizza and other food Manhattan is amazing!
It's pretty good. It's kind of like Chicago style in terms of thickness, but it has a different crust. If you have ever had Jet's deep pizza, it's like that.
Sounds like a nice trip to the big apple my friend!ππ. I have never been to New York City, it looks beautiful, but very, very busy!π
It is busy, but not that different from Seattle, just much larger.
That's good to know my friend.....ππ
New York.. New York πΆπΆ Lovely vacation you had there. Thank you for sharing your photos. Now I feel like I've seen it too. π An advance happy weekend...
