Traveling is a great way to get more steps. During our recent trip to San Diego, I have consistently averaged over ten thousand steps. First day at home, and I didn't get there.
Images in this post are from our most recent trip to California.
We got to spend almost three hours on USS Midway aircraft carrier.
Three hours just wasn't enough. We didn't get to explore about half the ship. Next time we visit San Diego, we will go again as it was just too much fun! The image above is an F18, which was painted in Soviet colors to play a role of Mig fighter in the original Top Gun movie.
There was also an opportunity to climb inside some of the jets and helicopters and take pictures. I really enjoyed the museum.
It was perfect weather to be outside and view the video and listen to the explanation of how the launch jets from a carrier.
We had a small snack on board before continuing our excursion.
After we were done with the museum, we walked to the Fish Market restaurant, which you can see in the picture above. You can also see the statue, which looks small but is actually a giant statue.

Is the USS Midway decommission now and operating is a museum for the Navy? I would definitely enjoy the opportunity to tour an aircraft carrier!
Sounds like you had an awesome time !š
Yes it was great and all three of us (wife and daughter) really enjoyed it. USS Midway has been decommissioned and turned into museum. You see that 41 that is the year it was put in service 1941.
Iām sure it had seen some naval history ā¦83 years old!šš

Ooh nice! It must be fascinating to visit an aircraft carrier. Great they have that museum there. Traveling is indeed good to learn more about other places and culture. I'd love to do more hopefully in the future, if I still could. LOL! Thank you for sharing your lovely vacation photos.

Yes, it was fascinating to be on the aircraft carrier, I have been before on destroyer and a submarine, but never on the giant ship like this. Cruise ships don't count :)
It sounds like you had an amazing time in San Diego.
