Tilgate Nature Centre in autumn : My Actifit Report Card: October 30 2026

I visited Tilgate Nature Centre again yesterday with some family members. It is good for the children mainly but it is also a great way to enjoy some fresh air.

I took some nice shots of the animals and even the lemurs were out for a bit of fun this time.

It was great to see them outside as they are shy creatures and seem to stay inside.

The nature centre has some impressive birds too. A pair of emus and a condor!

Elsewhere, a variety of mamals were grazing.

As always, the meerkats were very active. Always difficult to get a still shot of these as they are constantly scurrying around scratching up the ground looking for morsels to eat. I took a zoomed in picture of one sitting for a few seconds. It was actually looking straight at the camera (phone) 😆. All my other pictures of the meerkats were terribly blurred by movement unfortunately, and even this one is not great! 🙃

We enjoyed refreshments in the very popular room which is just outside the nature centre in a garden area called the Walled Garden.

Altogether another nice morning out enjoying this very mild late October weather.
