A Memorable Birthday Celebration: Reflections and Appreciations

Yesterday I celebrated my birthday, and I was overwhelmed with joy as to how I was celebrated by friends and loved ones. This made me feel special and appreciated, and truth be told, I never anticipated such amounts of well wishes, but then such was life. I guess I'm not entirely a bad person after all; I was honored and appreciated both at my place of work by students and colleagues, here on the hive by friends in the city of Neoxian, and at home by family members, so below I'll briefly tell you all about my day and some of the awesome wishes I got.

Celebration actually started on Monday, the 15th of this month, and my students and colleagues thought that was my birthday, so that gave me the gift of a pressing iron and an electronic kettle, which I really appreciated and would come in handy for me around the house going forward. I was grateful for their gift and also clarified that it wasn't my birthday but the next date, which was yesterday, the 16th.

On the other hand, yesterday in the city of Neoxian, I celebrated my virtual family and friends. It was a remarkable day, and I got loads of messages, well wishes, and funny ones that put a smile on my face. In appreciation for the love and how special I was made to be, I did a giveaway with over 50 Hive and 3 HBD to thank everyone for their love.

Through the years, I've found myself enquiring from my friends about their honest reviews of my personality, and the reason for this is to understand my person, know what people think about me, and, in the process, change for the better. What they say happens to be true and something I ought to improve on. Yesterday, I hosted such a giveaway, and below are some of the reviews I got;

Here is from @justfavour and I must say that these are very true and a honest review of my person;

Alright, here’s my take on who Vick is from my perspective.
Firstly, Vick is a teacher who loves his job. It's clear in how he shows up at school daily, even on days without classes.
Vick is consistent. It shows in how he posts daily on Hive. I learned he didn’t miss a day of posting last year, including power-up days. His true consistency came during the Zealy period. Despite the hectic activities, he persevered till the end.
Vick identifies as a Christian. Though, I'm not entirely convinced if he truly is, as he sometimes denies it on Hive and Discord.
After a heartbreak, Vick has chosen to stay single until his heart changes by “divine intervention.”
Vick is versatile. He's a shoemaker, writer, teacher, graphic designer, and farmer.
Lastly, here are some words for vick,: he should open his heart to live someday.
Love is a beautiful thing, and there are beautiful hearts waiting out there.

I could say a lot of things about you but I will say just a few. I want you to read it deeply and not on the surface.
The client I have come to know is a go-getter. He doesn't let pride get the better of him because he understands the freedom money brings.
I have heard stories of people who came to the city and left after a while. Makes me wonder why my client is still here even when it seems he is a bit accomplished like the rest of the people who left to pursue other things on Hive.
Too much thinking made me realize if something is still working, why change it just to feed your ego?
I am sure this is the way he thinks. He doesn't necessarily have to put it this way but I believe it's the same.
I believe he says to himself, there's no shame in hustle, I find myself thinking that's how he thinks. So I see him as a humble person.
Learns, evolves, earns, and continues to learn.
I have to come believe that the consistency he puts in is the reason he mastered the things around the city.
There's one additional thing that I observe. He is loyal. I believe it takes a loyal person to stick around for so long. Guiding new citizens when they show up. Doing his part even when his schedule may not be so favorable. He contributes and continues to do so every day.
One last thing. He doesn't hide updates. He knows money is in abundance and will reach everyone if we all just stay humble and hustle
I believe he's a good man and his nature is a lifestyle to be studied

I remember when @abenad came into the city she must have thought I'm some wicked person or so because of how I chat sometimes, I hear that alot but I sometimes say things to guide people rather than condemn and I'm glad she later see me for who I'm wrote this masterpiece;

I remember the very first time I had an encounter with you in the city. I was so defensive because I didn’t know who you were but you assured me you meant no harm and it’s been a blissful ride since then.

Our mummy dragon @merit.ahama came with a epistle, in truth we hardly talks most of my conversation with every other person usually happens in general, but then I'm pleased with her honestly and not sugarcoating words, thanks so much whale, but please let me claim akwa in in peace, I no want Yoruba 😂;

I know it may seem off or not worth mentioning but for me, it is the only connection I have with you and others and you make it look very easy to do... Responding to your dms quick enough, ready to help anytime and you don't hide what you know would benefit others.
I've not had much conversations with you except we would add the ones we have in general chats but from all I've known and read from you, you are a good person... Correct yoruba guy lol (no buttering here, just fact!)

I and @sholex94 have been friend for over 12 years and he's honest with all his words, indeed I'm not the same person I use to be and I'm hoping to get better with time;

Hmm, truth be told, when we were in school you have a different personality compared to who you're now, you've grown vastly in knowledge, wisdom and understanding. Also in the way you interact with people (your social life) a lot of positive changes has happened.
Then you're someone who wants people around you to succeed as well, disturbing a friend to come join a life changing platform when despite the person showing zero interest and you won't even gain almost nothing onboarding him, is a good attitude.
Right from time I know you're not a lover boy, so I'm not surprised how you turn to anti love now.

One thing I like about you, Vickoly is how nice and calm you are all the time. Even when you make violence, still it doesn't give the fact that you love to make others happy and that, makes you happy too.
