Hello, how are you? For the past month, I stopped cooking Sisig Tofu. I am so done with it, so I decided to cook another recipe of tofu, but tonight my dad asked me to cook it again. I guess they miss it, and I surprisingly miss it too, so yeah, Sisig tofu for dinner tonight!
To make it taste better, I added canned tuna, which adds interest to the taste and serves as a filler as well. I never knew that you could make a healthy version of sisig. So, when we crave it, the healthy version is always in line with our ideas. My family is sometimes a health-conscious one. I didn't understand at first, but now I know health is wealth!
In a hot pan, I added half a cup of cooking oil.
Then I added a 1/4 teaspoon of salt and ground pepper.
I cut the tofu into cubes, and then when the oil is hot enough, I added the tofu. The first time I fried tofu, I was like Keep mixing it, and it keeps sticking on the pan but through experience, I know how to cook it right.
What I do is I keep the tofu frying without touching it, so when the browning starts appearing, that is the sign that it is not sticky anymore. This is just optional, I added just a bit of butter while the tofu is frying, just to add more flavor to the tofu. Cook the tofu until golden brown on both sides and set it aside for later.
In the same pan, I added a tablespoon of butter, and I left about a tablespoon of cooking oil.
Then I added a can of tuna. This adds as a filler to the tofu.
Mixing and cooking it until the texture appears to be browning.
Then I added the aromatics and chilis, cooked them until the fragrance came out.
I set the tuna to the side of the pan, and then I crack the egg into the middle and just scramble it until it gets cooked, and then I set it aside for use later.
And then add the tofu I fried earlier.
And then I mixed it with the tuna until well combined.
I added 1 tablespoon of soy sauce.
And then I added 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce.
Then I add the egg I fried earlier.
Then I added half a teaspoon of all-in-one seasoning.
Then chili powder.
Turn off the stove, and then I added about 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise.
And then I squeeze 1 calamansi just to balance the taste.
Earlier, I set aside some chopped green chilis and red onion, this is just for garnish, but we love fresh chilis and red onion.
Happy Eating!
Ohooo, another version and it looks masarap din. Pairing it with steamed white rice for sure is perfect! 🤤
Thank you! True mapaparami ka ng rice! 😄
Looks delicious! Di ako marunong magluto ng tofu haha. I tried before, but tofu also is not something that is a staple in our local market. We have to order from a seller who has a supply from the city. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you 😁 ako din dati pero try try lang ng recipes maraming mahahanap sa internet.
