How I Cook Ginataang (Coconut Mik) Yellow Fin Tuna

$1

Hello, how are you? My family is sick of eating chicken and pork for lunch and dinner, so to change that, they wanted me to cook fish this time, and I am ready for that change this time, LOL. I don't know if some of you have heard about yellowfin tuna, but this is the only recipe I know that is perfect to cook with. I am going to cook yellowfin with coconut oil. If you want to try it, continue scrolling down. :D

Ingredients I Used:

0.JPG

  • 2 tbsp of Cooking Oil
  • Yellow Fin Tuna
  • 5 Cloves of Garlic
  • 1 Red Onion
  • 1 Ginger
  • 1 tbsp Fish Sauce
  • 250 ml Coconut Milk
  • 250 ml Water
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powderr
  • 1 tsp all in one seasoning
  • 1 tbsp of White Vinegar
  • 7 Green Chilis

Cooking Time!

In a hot pan, I added 2 tablespoons of cooking oil.

I like to fry the tuna first before I add the Coconut Milk. I fried them until they turned brown on both sides.

In the same pan, I sauteed the garlic, red onion, and ginger until the aroma came out or when browning started to appear.

After that, I am going to add 1 tablespoon of Fish Sauce, which helps remove the fishiness from the tuna and adds more flavor to the dish, so I suggest you not skip this part. Let the fish sauce cook a little bit.

After that, I am going to add 250 ml of coconut milk to the pan.

And then on the packaging of the coconut milk, I added water to it and poured it into the pan.

When the coconut milk starts boiling, I am going to add the yellowfin tuna. Make sure to cook it on medium to low heat. Flip it over to the other side every 8 minutes.

After that, I am going to add a half teaspoon of ground pepper and chili powder. You can adjust the chili powder to the hotness you want.

17.JPG

18.JPG

After that, I added 1 tsp of all-in-one seasoning for extra flavor.

21.JPG

22.JPG

After that, I added 7 green chilis.

19.JPG

20.JPG

After that, I added 1 tablespoon of white vinegar to balance the taste.

24.JPG

25.JPG

Now all the seasoning and spices are added. I am going to close the lid and cook it on low to medium heat, 8 minutes on each side, or until the water is reduced.

“This brings back so many memories—it looks just like the food my Lola used to cook. Thank you for sharing this, it warmed my heart and made me miss home even more.

Prepare a full bowl of rice. Rice must be unlimited with this recipe. This is the best recipe for yellowfin. The coconut milk goes well with the rest of the ingredients.
