The Hive-Engine API incident

Last week was exciting for the CraftInk development team. Where new modules for CraftInk were supposed to be developed, a serious error kept the team on its toes.

The mini-game has been running for a few weeks now without any significant problems, but there should be trouble in paradise. Since the assets around CraftInk are all on Hive-Engine and the mini-game also uses Hive-Engine's NFT technology, it is necessary to retrieve some data via Hive-Engine RPC nodes. However, what sounds so simple can often become so complicated.

In the library used by the CraftInk services, the Hive Engine API was used for each call by default. However, as some scripts are not optimised and many calls are sometimes made in succession, the server making the calls was automatically blacklisted by the Hive Engine node.

The CraftInk team is in contact with Hive Engine. A node switcher has already been developed to distribute the load of calls to several RPC nodes in a list. The team is also working on reducing the number of calls by fetching more data per call from the APIs.

Even though problems like these affect the further development of CraftInk, they have not stopped. Work on the payment module, which will be used to give users access to the mini-game and distribute profits to users in the future, is still ongoing.

Season 3 Rewards

In the third season there were 53 players, which were divided into 6 groups. The first 8 players of each group got INK and HIQS depending on their rank. In addition, the first of each group received a booster pack as a reward.
