Here in San Diego there is a big Filipino community, and it is easy to find restaurants with their typical food. One of the things I like a lot is Lumpia, I might be wrong as I've never been to the Philippines, but it seems like Lumpia is a common thing there. Maybe someone from the Philippines can comment my post about it. Lumpia is like a snack, a small spring roll, with a very thin pastry, and it's deep fried.
Since we had some people over, I decided to get a bunch of Lumpia for everyone to snack. I was on my way home from work, and decided to stop by a place that I have heard about that has some great Lumpia. The place is called Fredcel Lumpias, and it's take out only. I heard their specialty is Lumpias but they have other things too. They are located between City Heights and North Park, and are kinda hidden in a side street.
Check it out!

Filipinos like to fry things. These are basically fried spring rolls. We even fry dumplings like siomai which is usually steamed. :D

I agree, lumpia is a staple party food. It can be a snack or even be part of your viand in a meal. Filipinos also like things sweet, hence the sweet sauce that is usually accompanied with lumpia. Hope you enjoyed it! :)
