The theme for this week:

Welcome to a another round of the #POBPhotocontest

Yesterday I spotted a very nice full moon when I was outside in the evening. I'm always amazed how much light the moon brings. And the moon isn't even generating the light itself, it's reflecting the light of the sun.
This is the reason I choose LIGHT to be the subject of the #POBPhotocontest for this week.

Find something that generates of reflects light like the moon or something that IS light for instance a feather.
Be creative and have fun!

Becoming a better photographer

There are a lot of photographers joining the weekly #POBPhotocontests.
Some are experienced, others are less experienced, but all are enthusiasts.
By joining #photocontests and just going out to take photographs you get better at it.
I thought it would be a nice idea if the more experienced photographers could help the less experienced ones if the like.
So if you would like to have some tips on how you could improve the photo you submitted for the #pobphotocontest, let us know in your post (or the reply on this post). Maybe we could even introduce a new tag to oint out you would like to receive some photography tips from your fellow photographers. I was thinking of #phototips
What do you think?

About the POBPhotocontest

The #POBphotocontest is a weekly photography contest with a different subject every week. It runs from Sunday until next Sunday (8:00 PM CEST).
My intension is to make this contest accessible for everyone; from experienced photographers with professional cameras to beginners shooting with their phone camera. Everyone can join!

Every week you can create a blog post for this contest with at least one photo that that meets the subject of that week. That photo needs to be the first photo in the post.
Although it is allowed to use a photo from your archive it is more fun to go out and shoot new photographs.

Your photo should tell a story by itself, but also write something about your photo or photo's in your post. Share some background information about the subject, location or techniques you used and why you submitted this photo for the contest.
Don't forget to set #pobphotocontest as one of the tags] of your posts since that is the way I can find all the submitted photos.

You can also put your photo with a link to your post in the comments of this post.

The contest ends next Sunday 8:00 PM CEST.
I will personally judge the photos and select 3 winners based on both the quality and originality of the photo and the additional information in the blog post itself.

The winners will receive POB tokens and Ecency points.

How to become a better photographer is definitely a great idea. I am particularly interested in how to become better at post-processing photos. It seems to me that over the years I have developed a very Instagram-like style of processing photos with oversaturated colors and very strong contrast. When I look at the photos of some other photographers from the same locations, I think that maybe it could have been processed in some other ways that would have brought a different flavor to the photo. Great idea, I support it.

Thanks!
I think post-processing is often a matter of taste. But photography in general is that as well.
Personally I don't really like photo's that are overdone in post-processing. I like photo's more natural. There are some cases where HDR techniques can be nice, for instance with urban exploring.

I also think AI will start to play a bigger role in post processing. If you visit a place on a rainy day you can let AI create a clear blue sky in your photo. But where does it stop? I think you shouldn't have visited that spot at all and let AI generate the entire photo for you.

I don't participate every week, but once in a while, there is something that lures me in again. This week it was time again, and here's my entry.
