Today, the injustice done to patients in our city Mianwali government hospital is throwing dust in the eyes of the Chief Minister of Punjab

I have this message for the Honorable Chief Minister of Punjab

The steps being taken under your leadership for the improvement of the health sector are commendable, especially the increase in the salaries of government doctors is a positive step so that they can perform their services honestly. However, it is sad to say that some elements are damaging your good intentions.

Incident details:

An angiography was performed on a patient in a government hospital in Mianwali which was performed by Dr. Hasnain Iqbal Surprisingly, just two hours later, angioplasty was performed on the same patient but this procedure was performed at Obaid Noor Private Hospital instead of the government hospital In exchange for this private surgery Dr. Hasnain charged Rs 150,000 from the patient

This is not only against ethical and professional principles, but it is a slap in the face of public trust and government reforms. When all the facilities were available in the government hospital, transferring the patient to a private hospital and charging a huge amount of money falls under the category of corruption.

Questions that arise:

• Was there no angioplasty facility in the government hospital?

• If there was, why was the patient sent to a private hospital?

• Was this process done with the consent of the patient or under pressure?

• Were these doctors doing private practice during government hours?

Demand:

We demand from the Chief Minister of Punjab that an immediate and transparent inquiry be conducted into this incident and if the allegations are proven true strict disciplinary action be taken against the concerned doctor so that no government employee can damage public trust in the future

Playing with public health cannot be tolerated under any circumstances Under your leadership, we hope for a transparent and accountable health system.
