Połazili dzisiaj jak głupieloki, ale w sumie chyba fajnie było. Podeszliśmy pod Sagrada Familia i pozwiedzać Sant Pau. Pomyśleć, że 100 (no dobra 130) lat temu to było tu ściernisko. Zastanawia nas natomiast, jak to jest, że w takim mieście komunikacja publiczna nie działa. Już na samą myśl o tym, że miejsce docelowe jest 33 minuty pieszo, ale możesz skorzystać z komunikacji miejskiej, która zajmie 20 minut, to na się odechciewa. To mnie bardzo zdmiewa. Wydawało by mi się, że da powinno to być lepiej rozwiązane. Bo my nie mamy w ogóle asumptu do tego, by korzystać z komunikacji. Korcą natomiast rowerki, jest tu duża i rozbudowana sieć dróg dla rowerów oraz elektrycznych rowerów miejskich. Gdyby tylko dzieci były starsze, to byśmy się w ogóle nie wahali. Tak też drałujemy z dzielnymi bomblami...

We walked around like complete nutters today, but all in all, I think it was pretty fun. We walked over to the Sagrada Família and went to have a look around Sant Pau. Just think that 100 (okay, 130) years ago, this was basically just fields and stubble.
What does puzzle us, though, is how public transport can work so poorly in a city like this. Just the thought that your destination is a 33-minute walk away, but you could take public transport and get there in 20 minutes, is enough to put us off using it altogether. I find that really surprising. I would have thought it should be organised much better than this. As it stands, we have absolutely no incentive to use public transport. The bikes, on the other hand, are very tempting. There’s a large and extensive network of cycle lanes here, as well as electric city bikes. If only the kids were a bit older, we wouldn’t hesitate for a second. So instead, we keep trudging along on foot with our brave little munchkins...
