Nasza droga wcale na Nie-Konferencję HiveFest nie zaczęła się najwcześniej, a niektórzy już wyruszyli w nią kilka dni temu (wink wink). Poranek zaczął się od wizyty sarenki (nie rozróżniam) pod oknami. Pakowanie poszło w miarę sprawnie i mam nadzieję, że wszystko, czego potrzebujemy skutecznie zostało zapakowane. W drodze na lotnisko odezwał się mąż @moniqwashere, który chciał odebrać jedną że swoich rzeczy z naszego domu, szybka burza mózgów i klucze znalazły się w paczkomacie (przepraszam w automacie Paczkomat®™©) na lotnisku. Kiedyś może będę na tyle odważny, żeby wysłać paczkomatem bagaż na wakacje. Bo jednej Inpost za granicą działa głównie w oparciu o lokalnych partnerów a ci nie różnią się zbytnio od dotychczasowych kurierów, czyli równie dobrze walizka może dotrzeć 2 tygodnie po wakacjach na miejsce, ale w przeciwieństwie do zagubionego bagażu przez linię lotniczą, nie dostaniesz żadnego odszkodowania. My już na miejscu, zaznajamiamy się z okolicą. Nie rozumiem fenomenu Barcelony, ale już jedna rzecz mnie poruszyła. Przy Barcelonecie położony jest kompleks szpitali, w tym Hospital del Mar. No i w każdym razie personel medyczny wyciąga osoby chore, na łóżkach szpitalnych, żeby sobie mogły popatrzeć na morze, plażę czy port. Dla mnie to było mega humanistyczne.

Our journey to the HiveFest Unconference certainly didn’t start particularly early, and some people had already set off a few days ago (wink wink). The morning began with a visit from a little deer (I can’t tell the different kinds apart) right outside our windows. Packing went fairly smoothly, and I hope we managed to pack everything we need.
On the way to the airport, @moniqwashere’s husband got in touch because he wanted to pick up one of his things from our house. After a quick brainstorming session, the keys ended up in a parcel locker (sorry, in a Paczkomat®™© machine) at the airport. Maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to send my luggage on holiday via a parcel locker. Because while InPost operates abroad mainly through local partners, they aren’t really that different from traditional couriers — so your suitcase might just as well arrive at your destination two weeks after your holiday is over. And unlike luggage lost by an airline, you won’t get any compensation for it.
We’re already here, getting to know the neighbourhood. I don’t really understand the whole Barcelona phenomenon yet, but one thing has already moved me. Near Barceloneta there’s a complex of hospitals, including Hospital del Mar. And the medical staff take patients outside in their hospital beds so they can look at the sea, the beach or the harbour. To me, there was something incredibly humane about that.
