Na pochybel żółwikom morskim z bomblem odkryliśmy nową zabawę idealną na sobotę bez zobowiązań. Byliśmy co prawda na budowie, gdzie mimo wszystko nie byliśmy w stanie ocenić zniszczeń. Jakie zniszczenia? Ano woda z kanałów rekuperacji lała się przez wywiewy i nam rozmoczyła sufity. Dlaczego zapytacie. A ja odpowiem, że dlatego, że okazało się, że kanały rekuperacji nie zostały ocieplone. Nie wiem dlaczego. Uważam, że ocieplenie kanałów jest elementem prawidłowo wykonanej instalacji wentylacji mechanicznej. Bez niej ta nie będzie działać, jak w naszym przypadku. No w każdym razie, kwestie wyjaśniamy.

To hell with sea turtles, the moppet and I, we discovered a new pastime perfect for a no-strings-attached Saturday. We did end up at the construction site, though even then we weren’t really able to assess the damage. What damage, you ask? Well, water from the ventilation (HRV) ducts was pouring out through the exhaust vents and soaking the ceilings. Why, you might wonder. And my answer is: because it turned out the ventilation ducts had not been insulated. I don’t know why. In my view, insulating the ducts is an essential part of a properly executed mechanical ventilation system. Without it, the system simply won’t work — as our case clearly shows. In any event, we are in the process of sorting the matter out.
