Day Two and My Actifit Report Card: February 18 2025

Despite all the running around yesterday, I somehow didn't get to ten thousand steps. I did get to seven thousand, and that is pretty good considering my main mission was to keep our daughter entertained and happy on her first day of a mid winter break with mom away.

I believe that the mission was accomplished and then some. Today was another day with mom away, and I took a day off from work to spend with our daughter.

We started the day with breakfast at home, then chased gophers, which dug up our backyard. We did some playing with Lego working on her armory design. She mostly had weapons from Star Wars Lego sets and from the Indiana Jones Lego sets.

She did want those weapons to be really organized. We tried several different designs, I really liked some of the ideas she had, but in the end, she decided to store them simply in Lego chests.

Then it was time for lunch, I did a frozen dinner this time: World's Best Mac and cheese, or at least that was a claim on the box from PCC 😀

It took almost an hour to bake it in the oven, and she really enjoyed it. Then, it was time for the main event: visit to the tropical pool.

In our city, we have a heated salt water pool that is actually free for the residents. We went there because she really loves swimming and playing in water there.

She says that it is the only sports activity that she enjoys. I am happy to take her there. Not only she enjoys it there, but she also makes it a workout for me.

She really enjoys riding on my back while I dive and swim under water. There are also warm mini water falls there, and I hold her so that she gets a mini water massage while being safely out of range of the falling water.

I took pictures of some of the decor at the pool. After spending a couple hours on the pool, we acquired a solid appetite, so we went to a burger place nearby.

Ranch Drive-in is one of our favorite places for burgers in town. I ordered Ranch Bacon burger, and she went for regular Ranch Burger with fries and Cherry milkshake.

After dinner at the burger place, we walked across the parking lot to the Hillcrest Bakery to get some deserts for the evening.

She wasn't sold on this idea first, but I managed to talk her into it. Once we got home, it was time for phone and video calls with mom and her grandma.

And to finish off the day we picked a movie on Netflix. Another great day off!
