Llevando a mi tía a control médico / Taking my aunt to her medical appointment - My Actifit Report Card: March 9 2026

La semana pasada se hizo una inversión en exámenes médicos para que hoy mi tía pudiera ir a su endocrina. Tan solo los exámenes de perfil tiroideo y perfil 20 salieron en 105 $ y la consulta 50 $. Así que se necesitaron más de 150 $ para una consulta de control. Supongo que en otro país salí en un costo parecido, pero aquí en Venezuela ganarse cada dólar cuesta mucho con la hiperinflación que tenemos desde hace años, a veces me pregunto como hacemos para vivir, sé que la gracia de Dios y la fe nos mantienen, es la respuesta que consigo, ya que la lógica no me responde.
Los exámenes fueron alentadores mejoró un poco no tanto como se esperaba, pero bueno hay que tener paciencia, ella sigue con unos triglicéridos altísimos se presume que es por el mismo hipotiroidismo que aún no se controlan, le subieron la dosis de la hormona y en dos meses debo hacer solo el examen de la TSH.
La doctora nos regaló el tratamiento completo, ya que los visitadores médicos se lo donan y ella como conoce nuestra condición familiar me está apoyando en eso, un gesto muy generoso de su parte que agradezco mucho. Así que mi tía tiene tratamiento para los próximos 3 meses y esperamos que sus niveles de la hormona mejoren, en cuanto a sus cambios físicos la piel de los pies es la más afectada por la resequedad.
Mi tía depende de mi familia y como miembro importante y parte fundamental de la misma, procuro en cuidar su bienestar.

Last week, we invested in medical tests so that my aunt could see her endocrinologist today. The thyroid profile and profile 20 tests alone cost £105, and the consultation cost £50. So, it cost more than £150 for a check-up. I suppose in another country it would have cost about the same, but here in Venezuela, every pound is hard-earned with the hyperinflation we've had for years. Sometimes I wonder how we manage to live. I know that God's grace and faith keep us going; that's the answer I come up with, since logic doesn't provide one.
The tests were encouraging. She improved a little, not as much as expected, but well, we have to be patient. She still has very high triglycerides, which is presumed to be due to the same hypothyroidism that is still not under control. They increased her hormone dose, and in two months, I only have to do the TSH test.
The doctor gave us the complete treatment for free, as the medical representatives donate it to her and she, knowing our family situation, is supporting me in this, a very generous gesture on her part that I greatly appreciate. So my aunt has treatment for the next three months and we hope her hormone levels will improve. As for her physical changes, the skin on her feet is most affected by dryness.
My aunt depends on my family, and as an important member and fundamental part of it, I try to take care of her well-being.
