Today I planned another cycling trip in the woods of Dwingelderveld, but it was very cold tonight and the roads were icy and very slippery so cycling wasn't an option until later in the day.

So instead of a ride I went on a walk together with my oldest daughter so I could explore the first part of the forest by foot and decide if it was worth a ride or give my body some rest so I can do another MTB ride tomorrow.

I turns out most of the roads are just coarse concrete roads with a lot of wet fallen leaves on it, not the most awesome thing to ride on so while walking I decided to just enjoy the forest on foot and skip today's ride.

Out total distance walked was 6.7 kilometer (6 - 7, very funny according to my teenage daughter 😅)
So a pretty good workout, just with lower intensity so perfect to give my muscles some rest.

Tomorrow is our last full day here in Drenthe and I've planned the toughest ride of the two, visiting the MTB Track in Diever with a total distance of 52km of which 22 is the off-road MTB Track.

Tonight, in about four and a half hours actually it's the new year, so I'll be in bed much later, something I can't handle really well because I'm always going to sleep around the same time, I hope I will feel good enough and if not I will just have to drag myself on my bike because once I'm on it for 15 minutes everything is OK again.
