Hey Actifitters,
I've been kind of complaining or at least mentioning the fact we've been a bit slow and lazy in our routine since September that was the opposite with several trips, concerts and activities. Yesterday was a great opportunity to break that routine with the Pinhead Gunpowder concert in the evening. However it started as usual with the foliage check up in the yard.

Le Chat enjoying the sun on the deck.

While Kaia prefers more active runs in the yard. She may be injured and getting older but she barely lets it slow her down.

Even on busy days or nights, we always try to squeeze in a decent walk to the forest.

Kaia had plenty of time to explore and chase critters while Le Chat was waiting near the forest edge.

But like I mentioned, the event of the day was the Pinhead Gunpowder show at Saint Andrew's Hall in Detroit. For those not familiar, this is a Californian punk band from the 90s, and it always draws crowds because one of their members is none other than Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong. And with Saint Andrew's being on the smaller size, maybe about 1000 people capacity, that's pretty cool! We completely skipped the opening bands and just arrived 10/15 minutes before they took the stage, perfect timing! We mostly stayed behind the soundboard at the back, it's actually a very good spot in that venue. If it wasn't for that one old dude holding his phone high up above him and recording the entire fucking show, that would have been the perfect spot actually.

As for the show, as expected, fast and catchy punk rock with plenty of energy.

After seeing Green Day at Comerica Park a couple years ago with over 30000 people, that was kind of weird to see Billie Joe there in such a smaller venue. He and the whole band looked like they really enjoyed playing and the crowd liked it!

We even had lots of crowd surfing, that didn't happen in the last few shows I went to in much larger venues.

It wasn't a very long set, just a little over an hour I think, but with their short punchy tracks, that's already quite a lot of songs. Plus, they played 'unt' twice because after the song that was supposed to be their last, they weren't ready to call it a night just yet and Billy Joe said he fucked it up too badly the first time earlier in the show.
In summary, a good show in a great venue, what else can we ask for?
And now, back in the routine until the next one...
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.

Well, that's easy for me, pretty much anything rock is good! From soft or classic rock, to the most brutal metal! With a preference for metal, but I guess fast and punchy punk rock is really great live.
Have the best day, !ALIVE

Seeing a band like that in a smaller venue sounds so much better than a massive stadium. Playing a song twice because they messed it up is pretty funny too
Yep, huge venues and stadiums have their appeal, but overall for me, it's always better in smaller venues, and especially for this kind of music. Funny !INDEED, and I really don't think they had planned it, they just decided to play it again to close the show.
