My Actifit Report Card: April 25 2026

Hey Actifitters,

After all the rain the day before, yesterday was much better, no rain and cooler, a little grey though.

When we started our walk behind the front yard, Le Chat quickly joined us through her own shortcut, only she can fit under the chicken wire fence.

Then she had a snack with Kaia, I don't know why they love grass so much.

The plot thickens at the bigger forest entrance, what are they doing?

Even Kaia's wondering...

It doesn't matter much anyways, as long as we can walk the trails.

Cool mushrooms out there at the moment, with some at various stages of decay.

I remember back home in Europe, Lily of the Valley is often associated with May Day, but usually it's a bit later here. We have lots of it in the forest.

We continued all the way to the teepees.

I mentioned all the rain recently but the trails seem fairly dry, it will be nice to try a little easy trail running in a few weeks.

On the other side of the forest, I was proven wrong with Lily of the Valley already blooming. I guess the big temperature swings we've seen didn't bother it too much.

And it wouldn't be a typical walk without wildlife. Can you see these two deer there? They were relaxing, so I made sure Kaia didn't chase them and we kept our distance.

And of course all the squirrels. They were even faster than usual, I could only snap this one photo that wasn't just a blur.

We finished our walk just as usual in front of the painted tree.

It was already a nice walk but I kept plenty of time for a run, finally! I went for a 10k, maybe a bit too much with my current form. I walked a few minutes around the half way point, but I still was able to stay under one hour. Slow of course, but not so bad. I guess that gives me a decent starting point for my training. And bonus, first time over 30k steps in quite a while.
