My Actifit Report Card: August 12 2025

Hey Actifitters,

The heat wave continued yesterday with temperatures over 40C again, and many records getting broken. My mother's house doesn't have air conditioning and the temperature was really bad. Sam, like the rest of us, suffered from it.

So you can imagine the best place to be is the pool! Lots of swimming during that trip, it's a great activity.

But in the afternoon, I also drove my mother to her physiotherapist appointment again. This was an opportunity to explore a little more that tiny village I already mentioned a few days ago.

Beautiful little streets and old stone buildings.

And I found a different angle for the church.

But this time, I also found a small trail, leading to a vineyards. Again, probably not some famous wine, but after all, it is one of the best regions for wine, so who knows?

In spite of the heat and the fact I was really not dressed for walking, especially my shoes, I walked a little bit further on the trail.

Not sure what these are, many different crops in this area.

With the grapes near the vineyards, I also found wild berries.

In the end, I made it back to the therapist office just in time to pick up my mother. Next appointment she'll have to find somebody else to drive her as I will be back home, thousand miles away.
On the way back, we stopped at several relatives and friends, like a goodbye tour for my last day! More food and more drinks of course!

And finally, I joined my friends for one last evening walk. It was still a bit hot to walk but the sunset was amazing.

We walked for well over an hour again and that rounded up a pretty good step count for the day. After a late dinner, the only thing left to do was to prepare my luggage and finish everything for my flight early the next morning. It was a short trip and the heat wave the second week was tough, but in the end it was very nice overall.
