Destination - Buchan Park : My Actifit Report Card: March 5 2026

With the first warm sunshine of spring still wit us, I made the most of it with a nice cycle ride to Buchan Park. I think the temperature is set to drop a bit over the next few days as it is still only early March.

Conditions were good for cycling, if a little wet and soft in places but there was plenty of dry stony tracks here. I passed a few people out walking in this pleasant park which is situated next to a golf course.

There has been plenty of woodland maintenance work done here. These parks around our town are well kept.

If you look up at the trees, there is a layer of lichen growing amonst the branches. A sure sign of a healthy woodland.

I am getting really excited for the coming spring and summer seasons, and the cycling out in the forests when the conditions have improved a bit more. It won't be long if it stays dry.

A final look at the lake before heading off home again, looking along the main path which runs from the car park up to and past the old boat house.

Until next time....hopefully a much longer ride out into the wider forest areas.
