Goffs Park walk : My Actifit Report Card: September 5 2025

The sunshine returned again today, so I took a nice walk around a local town park called Goffs Park. This park is very popular as it is so close to the town centre and very often is host to events and amusements.

A main railway runs along one side of the park together with a nice tarmac path. There is a 9 hole pitch and putt course too, something which I have never done here. It looks fun, though.

Another point of interest is the minature railway. Kept in good running order by a team of enthusiasts and is usually running right throughout the summer but only on selected days.

The days are drawing in now, and mornings can be a bit chilly. Heavy dew is common this time of year, that's if it is not already soaked with rain, of course 🤣.

I enjoyed the walk and decided that I must do it more often. It's far easier than getting all my gear out for cycling and I also find that you notice more things around you as well.

Looks like a beautiful park my friend, I love the miniature railway!!👍😄
I can't tell from the photo what scale it is....
Is this live steam railway, or the smaller G scale for the German made trains?
Excellent 13 K @actifit steps today congratulations!!😄

I have no idea as I'm unfamiliar with the minature train jargon but I do know that they are steam engines. However, they are quite small but I haven't a clue on the scale.

Is this the same park where there was an exhibit of dinosaurs way back? That's a really lovely park. I wish there were more grassy areas here too. I imagine how refreshing it is to walk there in good weather days. Have a wonderful weekend!

No, the dinosaur event was in a different park called Tilgate Park.
We are lucky to have so many public parks here. Many of these parks were originally part of private estates which were acquired by the local town council and converted into the lovely public parks we enjoy today.
