Pooh Corner! : My Actifit Report Card: February 3 2025
It has been an incredible 20 years since I visited Pooh Corner. A gift shop, museum, and tea room dedicated to the story of a little bear called Pooh Bear đ». A story originally written by A. A. Milne.
We were surprised by how much the place had changed in the twenty years since we last visited. The tea room had been moved downstairs, which is the first thing you see on entering the premises.
The next change was the inclusion of a museum dedicated to the author and his family as well as the complete history of the story of Pooh, including the sale of rights to Disney.
The building is quite small, having been converted from a cottage, but the way that they have used the space is impressive, creating a small extension at the back for the museum.
Altogether a very nice experience on a winter day, but there is another feature to the story. Close by in 100 Acre Wood, there is a place central to the story of Pooh Sticks. The original wooden bridge where the author is said to have dreamed up the story. It is still there and can be found after a short walk from the village. We didn't go today, but I remember it well from 20 years ago!
