[PL / ENG] Krocząc po lodzie / Walking on ice My Actifit Report Card: February 19 2025

Dzisiaj nic wielkiego: najpierw szybko do Martesa po buty, bo tak inteligentnie się zapakowałam, że postanowiłam wziąć ze sobą akurat najstarsze śniegowce świata, na dojechanie, a nie wzięłam innej pary butów przez oszczędność miejsca. Śniegowce owe "się dojechały" skutecznie i odpadła im podeszwa, więc potrzebowałam czegoś na szybko na ostatni dzień pobytu, bo przecież nie będę siedzieć w domu. Buty nabyłam i wsiadając w nich do auta uświadomiłam sobie, że w schowku w bagażniku... mam moje buty trekkingowe. Fakt, nie zimowe, ale na grubej podeszwie, ten jeden dzień doskonale by zdały egzamin, a ja mam przecież w domu nowe śniegowce i buty codzienno-zimowe. Gwizdu gwizdu, 140 zł w pizdu, jak to mawiają górale. Trudno. Ogólnie ten wyjazd pakowany był śmiesznie i wybór tych butów to nie jedyny mój fakap, ale mniejsza. :)

Today, nothing major: first, a quick run to Martes for shoes, because I packed so cleverly that I decided to take the oldest snow boots in the world, for the ride, and I didn't take another pair of shoes to save space. These snow boots "ran in" effectively and the sole fell off, so I needed something quick for the last day of my stay, because I won't be sitting at home. I bought the shoes and when I got into the car in them I realized that in the glove compartment in the trunk... I have my trekking shoes. True, not winter shoes, but with thick soles, they would do great for one day, and I have new snow boots and everyday-winter shoes at home. Whistle, whistle, 140 PLN in a hush, as the highlanders say. Too bad. In general, this trip was packed ridiculously and choosing these shoes is not my only bummer, but never mind. :)

W każdym razie uzbrojona w nowiutkie, ciepłe i miłe śniegowce, i z podeszwą stanowczo mniej śliską niż te poprzednie nowe, które właśnie przez śliskość pozostawiłam w domu, ruszyłam z rodziną na spacer, tym razem po centrum Ustronia. Najpierw wzdłuż zamarzniętej Wisły i wśród kaczek.

Anyway, armed with brand new, warm and nice snow boots, and with soles decidedly less slippery than the previous new ones, which I had left at home because of the slipperiness, I set off with my family for a walk, this time around the centre of Ustroń. First along the frozen Vistula and among the ducks.

Damy szły nadbrzeżem, panowie - po zamarzniętej rzece.

The ladies walked along the quay, the gentlemen on the frozen river.

Potem szybko przez miasto, które w sumie jest spoko, jak na to że to środek ferii - miałam mega obawy, że będzie tak jak onegdaj w Sylwestra w Szczyrku, gdzie nie dało się przecisnąć przez tłum, dosłownie. Nie, tu luzik. Lepiej niż latem.
No i na pierwszy obiadek. Widać na zdjęciu kto tam się pierwszy zgłasza do jedzonka (am, am!)

Then quickly through the city, which is actually quite nice, considering it's the middle of the holidays - I had huge concerns that it would be like the other day on New Year's Eve in Szczyrk, where you literally couldn't squeeze through the crowd. No, it's relaxed here. Better than in the summer. And for the first dinner. You can see in the photo who is the first to ask for food (am, am!)

Byliśmy w Pierogarni u Aniołów. Uwielbiam pierogi ;p ale dałam się na tę miejscówkę nabrać kolejny raz :D Nie powiem, pierogi są przepyszne, zwłaszcza chłopskie skradły moje serce. Ale za porcyjkę liczą sobie 40 zł, a porcyjka jest taka, że ja zjadłabym dwie. A 80 zł za obiad w postaci pierogów to już nieco dużo.

We went to Pierogarnia u Aniołów. I love pierogi ;p but I fell for this place again :D I won't deny that the pierogi are delicious, especially the peasant ones, they stole my heart. But they charge 40 PLN for a portion, and the portion is so big that I could eat two. And 80 PLN for a dinner of pierogi is already a bit much.

Tak czy siak, były smaczne, a poprawiliśmy po prostu drugim obiadem w domu.

Either way, they were tasty, and we simply made them better with a second dinner at home.
