My Actifit Report Card: September 30 2026

The good and bad events around us inevitably influence us to some extent. Negative events tend to have a stronger impact than positive ones. This is because many of us can handle happiness, but struggle to cope with anger, which often leads to adverse consequences.

When something good happens to someone around us, it can affect us in two ways: we might genuinely rejoice for them as fellow human beings, or we might feel distressed and envious, thinking that good things always happen to others but never to us.

Neither reaction achieves anything tangible, yet such feelings are simply human nature. Today, a friend called to share the news that he had finally secured a job he had been waiting for. I was overjoyed to hear it; he called me first because he knew I truly wished him well.

He really needed this job. For some time, he had been working for a relative who, after utilizing his services, suggested he look elsewhere when he asked for a salary hike—promising, however, to refer him to another company. Left with no other option, he attended an interview at the company they suggested, and today, that job was confirmed.

There are both positive and negative aspects to this situation, and we shouldn't focus on just one side. One must consider both aspects, envision the best possible outcome, and arrive at a decision—that is what life is all about. It is important to remember that the impact of this shouldn't be limited to just one side.

As for today, I wrap up my day with a bit of walking, a meal, work at the office, playing with the kids at home, and finally, sleep.
