SATISFYING MY CRAVING

My life as a student has been an absolute struggle in so many ways than I imagined it would be. I remember when I was getting ready for my first semester as a 3rd year student, I had a lot of things planned out in preparation to make the experience more relaxing and exciting but I ended up still struggling with the whole process almost from the start to the end. But I must admit that it was a lot more bearable than my second year and that’s because I had gotten use to some of the challenges that may come.

Part of the plans I had while resuming was that I’ll make sure to eat good food. Of course, I did over average this time compared to the last session. I spent more of my money getting things at home to feed very well and I was really happy with myself. At least I only feel sick just once this semester unlike the previous session. About 2 weeks after my exams started, I became very tired to prepare good food because all I wanted was to rest when I get an opportunity to. At that point, I started preparing food just for the sake of having something in my stomach and not really to nourish my body.

I kept preparing noodles almost daily or spaghetti. I hardly prepared soup or even ate good protein. I kept craving for good food. Well, at the time my exams were done, my money was already finished and I had to call my dad because I couldn’t afford spending more from my hive because I will have to also spend when we resume this week! 😢 Yes, I’m done with my exam which I finished on the 19th of June and I’d be resuming on the 30th. We had just 11 days break. To be honest, I’m happy about the speed but it is draining, I must admit.

Well, yesterday after so much deliberations with myself, while hanging out on hive with some of my friends, one of them mentioned she was going to prepare food so she won’t be doing that today being Sunday and that also motivated me to do the same. My dad was able to send me some money and it was the best time to prepare something good.

I got dressed up and headed out. I remember the sun was scorching hot and I almost felt like just fainting because it was draining the little energy I had in me. Well, to God be the glory, I arrived at the shop where I wanted to get the things I needed to prepare the soup I had in mind. The prices were way over what I budgeted but since I had spared some money just incase, I was able to still buy them.

I bought beef and beef skin too. I steamed them first before adding them to my soup. At first, the soup was looking somehow but I’m glad it turned out just fine in the end.

I prepared swallow (eba) for it and I sat down to enjoy myself. It was so nice but I felt overfeed in the end because I didn’t want to waste the eba I prepared. Anyways, I’m just happy I finally prepared a good meal with protein after a long time and that’s why I couldn’t afford not sharing my joy with you all.

After bringing down that mountainous swallow, I did the dishes and made sure the kitchen was ready for a good reuse, hehe. It always gives me a kind of fulfillment whenever I’m able to clean up the kitchen after use and I’m glad I could at the time I did.

Thank you for reading through. ā¤ļø

And if you are student, don’t forget to leave a comment telling me how you’d feel if you had this experience of preparing what you have always craved after a long time, hehe.

Remember to have nutritional food but also do exercise to increase your stamina and keep your adrenaline at check and prevent stress. It helps to "blow up" stress. I usually enjoy swimming as it also gives me time to meditate as I do the drills.

It's hard to prepare good and healthy foods when you get too busy. Almost have no time to actually eat too. And sometimes, money is the problem too. Anyways the food you prepared looks interesting. ✨
