From Delegation to Domination: Hive Earnings, MMB, and the Rise of @indeedly
Ohhh, buckle up buttercup, because we’re diving into the wild, rewarding jungle of Hive with a side of sarcasm, hustle, and more passion than a motivational speaker on double espresso. Let’s talk about a little side project I cooked up between meetings, coffee breaks, and the 147 tabs I always have open: HiveEarnings. Yeah, that’s right! I built a thing. And it’s slick.
🧠 The “Why” Behind the Madness
You ever look at your Hive delegations and go, “Wait... I’m still supporting THAT project?!” Yeah, me too. Like finding out you’ve been paying for a gym membership since 2018 and the gym turned into a vape shop in 2020 (-> True Story!).
So I did what any normal, over-caffeinated tech nerd would do: I wrote a script. Because spreadsheets are cute but I like my data served hot, real-time, and with ROI calculations baked in. Add in a conversation with the always-awesome @tydynrain who threw some fuel on the fire with killer feedback and, boom: HiveEarnings became a webtool.
💻 What Does It Do?
Simple. You give it your Hive account, log in via Hive Keychain (because yes, we love security), and tell it how many days of earnings you want to check. Then, poof! It spits out a gorgeous summary of:
- 💬 Your Hive/HBD income from posts and comments
- 🧠 Your curation rewards (yes, passive income is sexy)
- 💸 All incoming transfers (even the suspiciously small ones from mysterious usernames like
bee.drone) - 📈 ROI calculations based on your delegations
Like a financial analyst… but one that doesn’t ask for your social security number.

Why Keychain login? I mean, all data are transparent; it just collects it from the blockchain... (I suppose bots could be an answer, but maybe a bit ironic if they are 😂)

So, why the keychain? Well... the answer isn't just a single reason :-)
For bots indeed, as querying for the data is resource-intensive, I don't want just any (not even Hive-related) scraper to drop by and start querying just like that, and over-saturating the nodes with useless requests.
For future developments ;-) There's more coming up besides L2, and for that the Keychain login will be needed ;-)

Isn't the information that this website tool provides a bit similar to what hivestatsdotio provides? Help.
It's similar, but with a different focus, hivestats.io (which I also use quite a lot btw!) gives a nice overview and statistics of your activities and curations and all that.
Whereas my tool simply tries to answer the question "to whom am I delegating, and from whom do I receive income".
