Mental health is a silent killer; it contributes heavily to physical illnesses and suicide. It is worse when people don't even know their family and friends are suffering from mental health issues until it is too late.
We have heard many cases of Suicide, this is a result of mental health issues... Mental health issues are what result in some people committing suicide... Earlier this year, my nephew tried to commit suicide by drinking sniper because his school results messed up his mental health, and he felt ending it would solve the problem, but we were able to save him.
I heard a case of a man whose wallet was hacked, and he lost 100,000 dollars, which seems to be his overall portfolio, and without wasting time, he drank sniper too, but fortunately, his family was able to save him too. Imagine losing all your life savings in a few minutes; that can be so painful. He was not thinking straight when he made that decision, because the only thing on his mind was how he was going to start from scratch again. It is not easy.
Some people didn't commit suicide, but the depression got to them so badly that they started losing their minds and going crazy. It is when they start acting strangely that their loved ones will notice. This is how bad mental health issues can be.
Physical health and mental health strongly affect each other. When not physically sound, it can lead to poor mental health. When not mentally sound, it can weaken our immunity and lead to physical health problems, so taking care of ourselves mentally and physically must be prioritized.
Avoid Smoking: Nowadays, more than 20% percent of the youth in my country smoke, they feel good when they do without knowing it affects their physical and mental health... It is the major cause of lung cancer and heart disease, which are physical issues, and addiction can be classified as a mental problem.
Prioritize rest and sleep: I am guilty of this. I don't sleep for 8 hours, and I see the effect on my body; it is necessary to always have a good rest and sleep so that our brain can be calm. Sleep also repairs our bodies. There is a reason why we observe the work in the day and sleep at night, it is so that when we work in the day, our body can recover during our sleep time, not sleeping can make our brain hot, which affects our decision making and mood.
Lastly, this is for my fellow introverts and those doing remote jobs only... We have one habit of staying indoors always; we hardly go out unless there is an important reason to do so. We just stay indoors, eating, watching movies, and sleeping...
That lifestyle is not good for our physical and mental health. Staying indoors can cause obesity cos we don't do any physical activities or exercise that will help us burn some calories. Instead, we often eat, which makes us gain weight, and we don't expose our bodies to sunlight, which makes us lack Vitamin D.
We are always on our screens it is whether we are working on our phone or laptop, or we are watching movies on TV, which causes eye strain. All these are poor habits, and we need to adjust.

this is true we really need to live conscious of both our mental and physical health, most time we neglect this till it overwhelms us n break us down.....
Most people don't care about their health until it becomes critical; meanwhile, taking care of ourselves and preventing any form of health issues is better than waiting for it to get critical and now spending more time and money on treatment.
especially for our mental health, most persons hold up so much till it becomes unbearable, that's why I urge people to speak up, communication is key, no matter how bad, problem shared is half solved, imagine those guys, if their families never showed we'd lose them plus a million other suicidal cases all over the globe

I agree with you... I even lost my sister October last year due to severe depression. She took her own life and until now it hunts me. She was under treatment medication and we really thought everything was okay because we see her looking just fine. It is true that sometimes we cannot notice people who are su!c!dal, we can even see smile in their faces. π it was never easy to accept.
That is sad. May her soul rest in peace.
Yeah, right, they don't let people know what they are going through until the day they take that drastic decision...
Sorry about the loss of your dear sis and take heart.
Thank you so much for your kind words and sympathy. It really means a lot during this difficult time. We are trying to stay strong and keep her memories alive in our hearts. πβ€οΈ

Smoking is really a no go area in our health because it damages the internal organs.
Unfortunately, some smokers find out too late when they are already battling with one problem or the other .
Our mental health is just as important as physical health. And when we ignore it, it becomes dangerous....checking in, resting, and speaking up can save our lives.
Both should be prioritize.
I will do better in the aspect of going out, more like taking a walk. Lol
I am guilty of that, but I actually know how important it is to take a walk just for your physical and mental health. A lot is happening, so we must prioritise our health because without good health, we can't do anything productive.
Honestly, go out more. Even if it is just strolling out to buy things or just around your vicinity, expose yourself to sunlight and some indoor exercise also helps, this keeps our immunity strong
Oh my God I never knew mental health could also be viewed in this aspect how is your causing doing now
Oh thanks, he is fine now and we have stopped him from going to school for now since that was the cause of his depressed state.
The case of people drinking a sniper is getting serious oo. A girl felt her mum wasn't giving her attention and drank a sniper to end it..can imagine that ? Who knows what was going on in her mind first before she concluded on killing herself ..it's terrible
Omo, we must find a way to balance this oo
Omo, I respect those people that tries to commit suicide cos it requires being brave , I can't even imagine it . Hope she survived it ?
Yea..she did
Jesus Christ! Losing $100,000 dollar can actually affect someone so badly that suicide can be an option.
Rest and self care is also very important because when we have enough rest we can come back stronger.
Thanks for sharing
Both physical and mental health are two vital health vehicles that we can't do without. Avoid smoking, engage in exercise, good rest and sleep are very important to maintain balance. Thanks
