4 Seasons of Using XBOT in the Wild Format: Results, Considerations and My Next Steps + My Results and My Fun Game Activity in the Modern Format
On Splinterlands the Ranked Play is divided into two formats:
- Modern Format: bots and battle helpers are prohibited but it is only possible to use cards from the last two sets released in order of time.
- Wild Format: bots and battle helpers are allowed, it is possible to use cards from all sets and to play you need to purchase the Wild Pass which costs 2000 DEC and is a seasonal recurring cost.
My favorite format is the Modern Format because Splinterlands has a structured and very fun gameplay but I have fun only if I know I am playing against human players like me and so for me Ranked play on Splinterlands is only the Modern Format because in the Wild Format there is no Ranked play but there is Bot play.
It's just my opinion but I've never liked the current structure of ranked play because it seems to me an absurdity that a human player like me, who likes to play on Splinterlands can only use cards from the last two sets in the Modern Format if he wants to play only with other human players.

I am seriously considering the possibility of making an SPS proposal to change the current structure of ranked play to:
- Modern Format: human players only + eventual liquidity bots owned by Splinterlands
- Wild Format: human players only + eventual liquidity bots owned by Splinterlands
- Bot Format: private bots and human players + Wild Pass
Having closed this parenthesis on my personal considerations on ranked play I now show you the test results in which I have been using XBOT with my Beta and Untamed cards in the Wild Format for four seasons.
Right now on Splinterlands the season 152 is in progress.
In seasons 148, 149, 150 and 151 I played in both formats:
- playing manually and having fun in the Modern Format.
- (not)playing using XBOT in the Wild Format.
In the Wild Format I used my curation account for SPT tokens, @libertygame27, to whom I delegated a card collection consisting of 137 cards = 2601 BCX = 97515 CP.
To this collection of cards, I added a selection of cards that I rented and changed in each of the seasons to try to find a combination of rental cards that would allow me to improve results and rewards.
In season 148:
- I delegated 30K SPS and spent 118 DEC on card rentals.
- I spent a total of 2118.24 DEC (Wild Pass + Card Rental Cost).
- I earned 100.36 SPS (Sps from battle victories - XBOT fees)
- Win rate: 41.97%
- I ended the season with a loss = -0.75$
In season 149:
- I delegated 50K SPS and spent 235 DEC on card rental.
- I spent a total of 2235.47 DEC (Wild Pass + Card Rental Cost).
- I earned 164.62 SPS (Sps from battle victories - XBOT fees)
- Win rate: 50.13%
- I ended the season with a loss = -0.45$
In season 150:
- I delegated 50K SPS and spent 627.97 DEC on card rental.
- I spent a total of 2627.97 DEC (Wild Pass + Card rental cost).
- I earned 201.56 SPS (Sps from battle victories - XBOT fees)
- Win rate: 50.90%
- I ended the season with a loss = -0.48$
In season 151:
- I delegated 50K SPS and spent on card rental 545.20 DEC.
- I spent a total of 2545.20 DEC (Wild Pass + Card Rental Cost).
- I earned 194.48 SPS (Sps from battle victories - XBOT fees)
- Win rate: 47.63%
- I ended the season with a loss = -0.47$
Playing with a Bot in the Wild Format is tantamount to completely excluding gameplay (the most beautiful part of Splinterlands) and equivalent to turning Splinterlands into an idle/incremental/managerial game in which the main goal can be primarily only one: the financial outcome.
In my test of 4 seasons using XBOT I obtained a total loss = -2.15$
Paying $2.15 and not playing = no fun for me....
Paying $2.15 and spending time selecting cards to rent...
In the current season, I did not purchase the Wild Pass and disabled XBOT!
Since my financial results were negative I ended my test in the Wild Format and starting from the current season:
- I will only play in the Modern Format
- I will put my Beta and Untamed cards available for rental.
The positive aspects of my testing are:
- I have learned how to use and configure XBOT which will come in handy and which I will return to when my Chaos Legion cards come out (unfortunately) of Modern Format (May 2025)
- I had a practical demonstration of how Wild Pass produces positive effects because it disincentivizes bot-farms but produces negative effects on human players, on the value of old cards and also on the value of cards close to exiting Modern Format because they are undesirable cards for human players
- I gained a good amount of GLINT which I used to increase the level of soulbound rebellion cards available to libertygame27 (they will be useful when I return to using XBOT)

I start a new test but in Modern Format!
In the current season I started a new test!
Instead of losing dollars and getting 0 fun in the Wild Format using XBOT:
- I will use the cards I don't use in Modern Format and I will spend the same amount of DEC that I spent in the previous season to rent cards but this time I will manually play in Modern Format with @libertygame27 as well.
In season 151 my fun will increase because I will double my gaming activity in the Modern Format and I am curious to see if I can recover the cost I will incur for the rental!
My gaming activity and seasonal results in the Modern Format.
Fortunately in the Modern Format the beautiful and fun gameplay of Splinterlands is at the center of everything because bots and battle helpers are not allowed.
Playing manually against human players like me is a completely different story and I have a lot of fun.
The season 151 in the Modern Format was a good season for me because:
I had fun playing 350 battles.
I reached the Diamond I league and earned 181K GLINT (My GLINT Balance + Season End Loot)
My seasonal win rate improved from the previous season (+1.47%**) and I played 43 more battles than the previous season.
At the beginning of season 151 I purchased 400 Common Draw, 100 Rare Draw and 6 Epic Draw.
I made good progress in upgrading my soulbound rebellion cards because I almost completed the upgrade of soulbound rebellion cards of common rarity.
Now I have 10 common soulbound rebellion cards at maximum level and I am only 1 level upgrade away from also raising Halaran Huntress and Luceheim Demon to maximum level.
Once I complete the ugrade of the common cards I can speed up the upgrade of the soulbound rare and epic cards.
In season 151 I earned a total of 1457 SPS and my main source of SPS token increase was always the Ranked Rewards in the Modern Format.
Regarding my staked SPS I am approaching 129K staked SPS but my accumulation goal is higher: 150K staked SPS.
I conclude this post of mine by showing my last battle played in the Modern Format which is the only format in which, in my opinion, the heart (gameplay) of Splinterlands beats and in which human players like me have fun!

Su Splinterlands il Ranked Play è diviso in due formati:
- Modern Format: i bots e i battle helpers sono vietati ma è possibile usare solo le carte degli ultimi due set rilasciati in ordine di tempo.
- Wild Format: sono consentiti bots e battle helpers, è possibile utilizzare le carte di tutti i set e per giocare è necessario acquistare il Wild Pass che costa 2000 DEC ed è un costo ricorrente stagionale.
Il mio format preferito è il Modern Format perchè Splinterlands ha un gameplay strutturato e molto divertente ma io mi diverto solo se so di giocare contro giocatori umani come me e quindi per me il Ranked play su Splinterlands è solo il Modern Format perchè nel Wild Format non c'è il Ranked play ma c'è il Bot play.
E' solo la mia opinione ma non mi è mai piaciuta la struttura attuale del ranked play perchè mi sembra un assurdità che un giocatore umano come me, che ama giocare su Splinterlands può usare solo le carte degli ultimi due set nel Modern Format se vuole giocare solo con altri giocatori umani.

Sto seriamente ragionando sulla possibilità di fare una SPS proposal per cambiare l'attuale struttura del ranked play in:

In questo momento su Splinterlands è in corso la stagione 152.
Nelle stagioni 148, 149, 150 e 151 ho giocato in entrambi i formati:
- playing manually and have fun in the Modern Format.
- (not)playing using XBOT in the Wild Format.
Nel Wild Format ho utilizzato il mio curation account per i token SPT, @libertygame27, a cui ho delegato una collezione di carte composta da 137 carte = 2601 BCX = 97515 CP.
A questa collezione di carte ho aggiunto una selezione di carte che ho noleggiato e che ho cambiato in ognuna delle stagioni per cercare di trovare una combinazione di carte da noleggiare che mi permettesse di migliorare risultati e ricompense.
Nella stagione 148:
- ho delegato 30K SPS e ho speso per il noleggio delle carte 118 DEC.
- ho speso in totale 2118.24 DEC (Wild Pass + Costo noleggio delle carte)

- Win rate: 50.90%

Nella stagione 151:

Nel mio test di 4 stagioni usando XBOT ho ottenuto una perdita totale = -2.15$
Pagare 2.15$ e non giocare = nessun divertimento per me...
Pagare 2.15$ e impiegare tempo a selezionare le carte da noleggiare...
Giocare con un Bot nel Wild Format equivale a escludere completamente il gameplay (la parte più bella di Splinterlands) ed equivale a trasformare Splinterlands in un idle/incremental/managerial game in cui il principale obiettivo può essere principalmente solo uno: il risultato finanziario.
Nella stagione in corso non ho acquistato il Wild Pass e ho disattivato XBOT
Dato che i miei risultati finanziari sono stati negativi posso interrompere il mio test nel Wild Format e a partire dalla stagione in corso:
- giocherò solo nel Modern Format
- rimetterò le mie carte Beta e Untamed disponibili per il noleggio
Gli aspetti positivi del mio test sono:
- ho imparato ad usare e configurare XBOT che mi sarà utile e che tornerò ad utilizzare quando le mie carte Chaos Legion usciranno (purtroppo) dal Modern Format
- ho avuto la dimostrazione pratica di quanto il Wild Pass produce effetti positivi perchè disincentiva le bot-farms ma produce effetti negativi sui giocatori umani, sul valore delle vecchie carte e anche sul valore delle carte prossime ad uscire dal Modern Format perchè sono carte poco desiderabili per i giocatori umani
- ho guadagnato un buon quantitativo di GLINT che ho utilizzato per aumentare il livello delle soulbound rebellion card a disposizione di libertygame27 (saranno utili quando ritornerò ad utilizzare XBOT)

Inizio un nuovo test ma nel Modern Format!
Nella stagione in corso ho iniziato un nuovo test!
Invece di perdere dollari e di ottenere 0 divertimento nel Wild Format usando XBOT:
- utilizzerò le carte che non uso nel Modern Format e spenderò lo stesso quantitativo di DEC che ho speso nella stagione precedente per giocare nel Wild Format ma questa volta giocherò manualmente nel Modern Format anche con @libertygame27.
Nella stagione 151 il mio divertimento aumenterà perchè raddoppierò la mia attività di gioco nel Modern Format e sono curioso di verificare se riuscirò a recuperare il costo che sosterrò per il noleggio!
La mia attività di gioco e i miei risultati stagionali nel Modern Format
Fortunatamente nel Modern Format il gameplay bello e divertente di Splinterlands è al centro di tutto perchè i bots e i battle helpers non sono consentiti.
Giocare manualmente contro giocatori umani come me è tutta un'altra musica e mi diverto molto.
La stagione 151 nel Modern Format è stata una stagione positiva per me perchè:
mi sono divertito a giocare 350 battaglie
ho raggiunto la lega Diamond I e ho guadagnato 181K GLINT (My GLINT Balance + Season End Loot)
Il mio win rate stagionale è migliorato rispetto alla stagione precedente (+1.47%) e ho giocato 43 battaglie in più rispetto alla stagione precedente.
All'inizio della stagione 151 ho acquistato 400 Common Draw, 100 Rare Draw e 6 Epic Draw.
Ho fatto degli importanti passi in avanti nell'upgrade delle mie carte rebellion soulbound perchè ho quasi completato l'upgrade delle carte rebellion soulbound di rarità comune.
Adesso ho 10 carte rebellion soulbound comuni al livello massimo e mi manca solo 1 livello di upgrade per portare anche Halaran Huntress e Luceheim Demon al massimo livello.
Una volta che avrò completato l'ugrade delle carte comuni potrò velocizzare l'upgrade delle carte soulbound rare ed epiche.
Nella stagione 151 ho guadagnato un totale di 1457 SPS e la mia fonte principale di incremento dei token SPS sono state sempre le Ranked Rewards nel Modern Format.
Per quanto riguarda i miei SPS staked mi sto avvicinando ai 129K SPS staked ma il mio obiettivo di accumulo è più alto: 150K SPS staked.
Concludo questo mio post mostrando la mia ultima battaglia giocata nel Modern Format che è l'unico formato in cui, secondo me, batte il cuore (il gameplay) di Splinterlands e in cui i giocatori umani come me si divertono!

4 Stagioni è un bel sample e a questo punto secondo me fai bene a fermarti: varrà la pena riprovarci con il set Chaos Legion quando non potrai più utilizzarlo nel Modern format, ma ora sicuramente puoi utilizzare gli SPS ed il DEC extra in modo più produttivo giocando nell'unico "vero" formato di Splinterlands.
Ps. se dovessi mai lanciare la proposal sicuramente avrai il mio (piccolo) voto!

But how can one stop playing with bot, cause i seem to run into road blocks on a particular pattern of opponent team though they have real names am just wondering if its by moving up the rank
I previously thought that wild will at least be a little profitable once most of the bot farms were gone but it seems not unless one plays on Diamond league and have at least 10x multiplier.
You are absolutely right, in the Wild it is necessary to have a good card collection and a good multiplier otherwise it is not profitable.

It was a nice experiment, but I do think that it will be interesting to see when Chaos Legion gets removed, and if that will change the profitability.

In almost all the season's experiment l you actually lost some investment, especially the first season. Personally the SPS I earn per season doesn't pay for the wild pass I buy once in two weeks. However I'm mostly just incuring the loss because I like playing the game.
I understand you, the strength of Splinterlands is the fun gameplay, and when the fun is there, it makes sense to lose a little something
However, I hope that in the future the Wild pass will be removed by trying to find an alternative solution to counter the bots because now the Wild pass also disincentivizes human players and that is not a good thing in my opinion
