Dashavatara - ten incarnation of Lord Vishnu on stage
Spiritual enlightenment of kids on the victory of righteousness over evil
As per Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu is believed to have descended on this earth to empower the good and destroy evil, in ten different incarnation known as Dashavatara. Our holy scripture BHAGAVAD GITA, also refers to these avatars in verses 7 and 8 of chapter 4 :
Whenever there is a decline of righteousness [dharma] and rise of unrighteousness then I send forth Myself. For the protection of the good, for the destruction of the wicked, and for the establishment of righteousness, I come into being from age to age.
And this was the theme performed on stage by kids, in my daughters school annual function. It's a massive task to conceptualize the performance of Dashavatara on stage, plan the entire play, segregate each of the incarnation, and then train these kids for a long time ( they have been practicing 2-3 hrs daily since a month) and finally showcase their talent. The school did took some professional help as well, from a famous dance group in my place to choreograph every move. But again, making thousands of kids perform on stage exactly as planned, is not an easy job.
And apart from the dance, the costume is another very essential part of the performance. They carefully choose the costume for each performance and then got it stitched for each student, by taking measurements.
This was the only way we can identify where our kid is on the stage. Probably now you can imagine, what it takes to give the final outcome and how much effort the school puts for it, financially as well as effort wise. And what do they gain ? Parent's appreciation, which is very powerful to spread the message about the school's reputation.
We went to the event at the evening, though I had to drop her at 2.30 pm, so that they are prepared prior to the event. Above are the top performers ready to perform first after the inaugural song, one of her close friend being part of that troop.
But before that, they did the prize distribution event, to showcase their brand - niche way of promoting. There were so many kids, but these kids are known to me, two of them in our apartment and the girl on the top is one of my friend's daughter excelling in swimming, participating at national level. And now let me present you some nice captures from the evening.
A mesmerizing performance on the stage, that literally took us to our root.
Finally when this team came on stage, we knew our daughter is there, but look at them. It was impossible to find out her, they did some kind of make up after we left the kids.
I tried to capture so many pictures, to find out and recognize her, thanks to the Camera, got success with only one picture :) They all looked alike.

Big round of applause for all the kids performing such mega theme - it brings a lot of confidence in them for public exposure.
A function without food is incomplete, so the school had arranged a food counter, which gives them pretty good amount of profit as well.
The boy was at home, so we picked something for him as well as our daughter and finally brought her from the peak up classroom, after the heavy crowd dispersed, everyone wants their things first !!

This is a good way when kids know about Indian mithology. When they perform they will remember it for lifetime.

Lovely photos. I am glad you were there to support and see your daughter perform in their annual function. Hehe, looking at the some of the group photos, they all look alike with same hairstyle and outfit.
Taking measurement of thousands kids and sewing them according to their sizes is not an easy task. I commend the school for that. I was thinking they should have just gotten the materials and give each student to sew theirs but I guess they have their reasons for doing what they did.
I guess, doing on bulk is better, because if each student go to sew theirs, then they will pay more.

I wish I have all the day to watch the video over and over again. I enjoyed it and could not stop smiling especially the part where I saw a little boy, in a non uniform dress in the mix of the students😂...I think he must be coordinating them or something. The little boy got me laughing all through.
Above all, the kids did amazingly well with the performances.
Always, we are the first level of confidence for them.

Wow, those images look so mesmerizing. In a lot of the pictures, the performers blend so well with the background that I initially thought they were part of it. I perform traditional folk dancing as well in Europe and have been lucky enough to see some Indian traditional dancing last year at a festival. It was really great to see!

Buen día, en la actualidad necesitamos muchos vishnu en nuestras vidas, y ya su hija tiene el suyo y es ud mismo y su madre, mis hijos también los tienen y somos nosotros mismos, solo espero que todos los niños tengan su vishnu. Eso es toda una preparación, un esfuerzo grande hecho en conjunto, niños, padres,escuela,colaboradores etc
