Game - 6

Do you remember where I left off in my little Kenshi playthrough a few days ago? I’ve got a bit of time, so I’m going to pick the story back up.

Do you remember? I’d just bought my first slave… sorry, I mean my first unpaid volunteer employee.

Well, for now I’m going to leave him at home with a little food and try to recruit some more. I’ll wait for the slaver to have some for sale. In the meantime, I’ll head outside the town and loot the corpses of animals or bandits the guards are constantly fighting off just out of sight. I’ll sell the stolen gear so I have enough money to pay the slaver once he has some new stock.

Actually, what am I thinking? My intern can go train at the Thieves Guild in lockpicking, basic combat, and assassination.

He got another one while we were out on our rather unsuccessful looting trip.

Well, he’d barely made it out of his cage before he took off running and escaped. It happens—you sometimes need a few tries before you get a docile slave. But we’re not giving up; I’ll need an army later on. I see some criminals lying on the ground, so I’ll take them to the slaver, who’ll buy them from me later. ^^

Right, let’s head back up to the top of the map, to the fishing village. We’ve got a little money, so let’s try to build ourselves up there. We’ll explore the whole map and all the towns bit by bit, but for now, let’s go there. We’ll cross the entire desert, being careful not to run into the road to death along the way.

Off to Bark!

On the way, I passed two factions fighting each other. Since they weren’t paying any attention to me, I kept going.

The journey went pretty well, and now I’ve arrived at my destination.

The only thing we saw along the way was this poor holy robot surrounded by monsters.

We’d barely started entering the town when some manhunters beat us up and enslaved us. They also killed my pack animal, which was carrying all our gear. And so begins an arc of vengeance!

I managed to get away and treat my pack animal. What a huge relief!

Even while on the run, I bought three houses in town to hide in. Unfortunately, there’s now a 35,000-gold bounty on my head.

And my main character is still a slave.

Let’s go free our buddy!

To be continued…
